How to know whether the recipient has read the e-mail or not

Many people regularly send e-mails to different people for personal or institutional work. Sometimes it is necessary to send important information through e-mail, to which it is very important to know the answer. And in these cases, the question comes to mind, has the recipient read the e-mail message? By using Gmail's 'Read Receipt' feature, it is easy to know whether the recipient has read the sent e-mail or not. Let's take a look at how to turn on Gmail's read receipt feature.

To enable Read Receipt facility, login to Gmail through any browser and click on compose button. Then add recipient name, subject and necessary attachments to the e-mail. Now click on the three dot menu at the bottom right side and select 'Request Read Receipt' option. After clicking the send button, the e-mail will go to the recipient's address. Now if the recipient allows to use the Read Receipt facility, an e-mail will automatically be sent to the sender's address, through which it will be understood that the recipient has read the sent e-mail.

Note: Unfortunately, personal Gmail accounts can't use Gmail's read receipts feature. Gmail allows read receipts only for G Suite (formerly, Google Apps for Work) accounts.
