EMMP in an EIA Process
As part of my Graduate Development Program with Eco Services, we are now implementing our Environmental Management and Monitoring Programs (EMMP) purposely for Learning and Development and we try to find out if the existing activity have considerable impacts in the environment and water systems within our monitoring sites.
Thus, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is part of the Risk Management Process (ISO 14001).If we are to understand the Precautionary Principle in EIA, than it is very important to understand the two important things:
1: Business Lease
2: Business Case
It is very important to understand the project overview in carrying out the business activity and then put down the program to carry out the business because it applies to Hazard Identification and thus EIA is a Big Take 5.
Based on ISO 14000 Series and International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards now the Environmental Policy has to be developed and based on the Environmental Policy we can develop the environmental management and monitoring programs (emmp) and implement the programs. For EMMP Programs to be fully implemented we need to develop; the forms ,Identify legal and other Requirements SOPs, Schedules and Data Tools for Data Analysis. Thus we must monitor EMMP elements based on the existing Permit conditions.
