Dr. Jason McCord Honored with AEG Vision's Optometric Excellence Award for August

Dr. McCord has been a valued optometrist since earning his Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in 2007. He also holds a Bachelor of Natural Science and Mathematics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Specializing in routine eye exams, Diabetic Retinopathy management, Dry Eye Treatment, and eye disease management for Glaucoma and Macular Degeneration, Dr. McCord provides comprehensive care to patients of all ages, including those with special needs.

This led to the diagnosis of Chiari Malformation, a rare condition where brain tissue extends into the spinal canal. The timely intervention and subsequent surgery likely saved the young patient's life and preserved his mobility. This incident highlights Dr. McCord’s vigilance and commitment to his patients' well-being.

Dr. McCord’s expertise with Chiari Malformation is not limited to this case. He previously treated an adult patient with the same condition in Arizona, whose undiagnosed ailment had severely impacted his mobility and quality of life. These experiences underscore Dr. McCord’s ability to make life-changing diagnoses and provide critical care.
