Chapter 1: The Cloud

Chapter 1: The Cloud

What is cloud computing?:

This is a technology that allows for the delivery of computing resources such as servers, storage and software over the internet

Benefits of using cloud computing

A.  HIGHLY AVAILABLE AND SCALABLE RESOURCES:

-         Cloud computing provides you with designed multiple layers of redundancy so that when one component fails, it’s workload is instantly moved to a healthy replacement

-         It connects resources in geographically remote locations so that when one region fails, it triggers predefine relocation of resources to another region

-         It provides customers with access to much compute powers than they can ever need in on-demand bases

-         It provides scalable and efficient resources at very low cost

B.  Professional secured infrastructures:

Cloud providers e.g AWS manages and protects your network and infrastructure but the security of your data relies on you. This is called shared responsibilities

C.   Metered payment model:

Cloud computing provides users to pay for resources per the amount of time used which is less costly than on-premises

A.  Server virtualization:

Cloud providers allocates specific compute resources on-demand by dividing larger physical machines in smaller virtual machines
