A Calling To The Old Ways

Remembering the past is how we don't make mistakes for the future. Email marketing was one of the first digital marketing techniques. The first email marketing campaign was sent in 1978. To this day, the usage of email has continuously been on the rise and the relevance of email campaigns keep increasing.

The Importance of Email Marketing

Just like organic marketing, email marketing keeps your current target market engaged with your brand. It increases engagement by being able to have personalized emails to current segments of your target market. Email campaigns not only just keep engagement up with current consumers. It also fosters leads and improves conversions. There are many other benefits to email marketing as well, but this last benefit is one of the best benefits. Email marketing is very cost efficient, more so than other marketing methods. I recommend email marketing for teams that are low on funds or small businesses. Despite the history of email marketing, there has been constant updates to this method to improve effectiveness and the ease of email marketing.

Email software has become normal amongst businesses to make the marketing teams more effective. The software is capable of measuring data and reporting it to your marketing teams. Software's can also target the right segment with your message and send it out for you. If conversions are made, the software can easily send follow ups like surveys without the team having to do so. But with the current rise of AI will change how email marketing works. Even though email marketing will change, the benefits that mentioned above will still stay the same or hopefully improve.

Difference Between Automation and Email Marketing

Talking about software and the benefits it brings to email marketing, they both perform different purposes. The email marketing method is sending an email to a specific individual or specific target market. Automation marketing on the other hand makes the emailing process easier. Automation is typically an omnichannel platform that makes all of your marketing efforts easier, not just the email process. This platform takes care of leads, keeps track of contacts, notifies the teams of conversions, etc. Speaking of conversions, conversions could mean downloads of a product, taking a survey, or getting to your landing page from your email.

Landing Pages

Landing pages are the first thing they will see once they click the hyperlink from your email. Since the landing page is the first impression your leads notice about your business's website. So, you have to make sure your landing page will be able to generate some interest for your consumers. Some ways to attract people is to have a structured page. When people click on your site, they want to know that the brand they are looking at is organized and leads them to what they want. Load time is an important factor as well, a good load time to maintain is 0 to 4 seconds. Amazon for example studied that every 100MS of slower load speed decreases conversions by 1%. Other factors include credibility which play a role in SEO as well, using media/visuals, and relevancy.

Oldie but Goodie

Overall, email is still relevant today after all these years. Email marketing can be argued to still be one of the best ways to connect and nurture relationships with your target market. Don't forget to also have a landing page that continues the experience for the consumer. The relationship and process of a consumer's conversion is very delicate and can end at any moment. But using these methods will ensure a better outcome for both the brand and the customer.
