Building a Better Cloud, the Apache CloudStack Way

When Accelerite acquired the CloudPlatform and CloudPortal Business Manager products from Citrix earlier this year, we made several important commitments as an organization.

To our customers and partners, we commit to continue fully supporting, further developing and enhancing CloudPlatform and CloudPortal Business Manager. Within a short time period (approximately one month) we launched CloudPlatform v4.7, with new capabilities in computing, networking and operations. For example, we added support for Windows workloads on bare-metal, CoreOS support to run Docker containers and extended bare-metal provisioning to include HP Moonshot. You can learn more about this here.

Regarding product performance improvements, we have done extensive performance validation and improvement and we’re proud to report that the latest CloudPlatform v4.7 release includes more than 200 bug fixes. In addition, we are contributing Continuous Integration (CI) system to the community as it will help improve the quality and stability of Apache CloudStack.

Equally strong is our firm commitment and dedication to involvement with the ongoing development of Apache CloudStack as the leading open source cloud orchestration platform. Simply put, Accelerite CloudPlatform is built on Apache CloudStack. As we evolve to the next phase of public and private clouds, we are looking at the features and functionality that best serves the entire community. To that end, I would very much like to hear your feedback on which areas would benefit most from contributions. Please feel free to begin a discussion in the comments below.

Accelerite will be at the Apache CloudStack Collaboration Conference in Montreal on June 1 – 3 and at CloudExpo 2016 in New York June 7 – 9 and I would love to speak with you in person about Apache CloudStack if you are attending those events.
