AIOps Choices: Balancing Domain-Agnostic and Network-Specific Solutions

AIOps Choices: Balancing Domain-Agnostic and Network-Specific Solutions

Welcome to this edition of AI‐TechPark , where we venture into the ever-evolving realm of Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations (AIOps) within the domain of network management and understand the preferences of enterprises as they navigate the complex decision between domain-agnostic and network-specific AIOps solutions.

Recent research conducted by EMA reveals interesting trends in the AIOps landscape. Enterprises are increasingly turning to AIOps to optimize their IT management, and they have three main options: domain-agnostic solutions, network-specific solutions, or a combination of both. The data suggests that while domain-agnostic AIOps solutions hold considerable appeal, a significant number of enterprises are opting for a hybrid approach, utilizing both network-specific and general AIOps solutions to enhance network management.

A critical factor influencing this choice is the experience of individuals with AIOps. Those with hands-on experience tend to lean toward network-specific solutions, likely due to prior positive experiences or early exposure from incumbent networking vendors enriching their products with AIOps capabilities.

IT executives, on the other hand, are more inclined to seek a combination of both domain-agnostic and network-specific solutions, as are large enterprises and those in North America.

When it comes to the top requirements for AIOps-driven network management solutions, integration with network management tools and ease of use top the list. North American enterprises emphasize these criteria more than their European counterparts. Even the middle managers prioritize ease of use more than IT executives, highlighting the need for user-friendly solutions.

In the contemporary business landscape, organizations are increasingly aware of the significance of having a diverse and extensive pool of AI training data. They also value the availability of a broad spectrum of analytics and machine learning methods, all within solutions that can be tailored to suit their specific environments.

The AIOps landscape is evolving rapidly, with enterprises embracing a mix of domain-agnostic and network-specific solutions to meet their network management needs. These decisions are influenced by variables such as hands-on experience, the scale of the organization size, and geographic location. As AIOps continues to mature, it will be fascinating to see how these preferences and requirements evolve, and we'll be here to keep you updated on the latest developments in the world of AI-driven network management.
