10 Things I learnt when I Self-Isolated for a week......
Are you feeling overwhelmed ? Do you feel like one-minute things are in control and next it's like you were hit by a storm? Are you going crazy trying to stay with the schedule , kids , business & home stuff??? Last week I felt the mental fogginess, fatigue & just a state of ‘blah’ which looked like ‘cold’ but were actually signs of all the exhaustion from the current situation that I had been ignoring for awhile…SO I switched off from everything including social media for a week and here are a few things I learnt :-
1. This is my story and I need to own & write it my way. So many people telling us ‘what to do’ & ‘what not to do’ ….please filter them and do what feels right for you. If you & your family don’t feel good about schedule then don’t have them. Steer your ship your way because you are the captain of your ship. I was getting way too caught up with trying to follow what I was seeing &listening to others doing that eventually didn’t feel aligned for me.
2. Take ownership & make decisions. Its really important to build the muscle of taking decisions at this time because they will help you with clarity and you will know your priorities & values really well. I made a lot of decisions last week and I feel so much better.
3. There is no model of how this is supposed to be for us and how we are supposed to be at this time. YOU DO YOU!!!
4. Your kids will pick up your frequency of emotions so what feelings do you want to spread in your home ? And be transparent. It is okay for mommy to feel scared....your kids need to know it is okay to have all kinds of feelings coming within us right now. And each day will be different.
5. Do you do something that brings you joy?? Atleast once a day…..?
6. Dance ..randomly…throughout the day…..it is amazing!!!!!
7. You are in the right place in life & in business and the universe has your back. DO NOT compare with others around you and allow their stories to start reflecting on yours. What lessons are you learning right now????
8. Do self care YOUR way.
9. This will pass too….and soon. You will have a story to tell.
10. Ask the right questions to get the best answers. The quality of your answers depends on the quality of your questions. I asked lots of questions....a lot were for me but even my husband...and my kid. I wanted to explore what was going on with them......
So WHAT did I learn….????
- What really matters right now is ‘Who will you need to be when you come out of this pandemic?’
- What really resonates with you and feels right for you right now is probably what you should be doing
- When you look back at the now in the future , what would you like to see ? Do that now.
I stepped into this week with feeling of lightness in my body & my mind and I knew I really needed to step away from it all to step into myself.
