When I think about what matters in veterinary medicine, two things stand out above all: the education of our future practitioners and the human-animal bond they’ll nurture. That’s why I’m proud to share that Zoetis has partnered with the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) and the Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI) to offer free Human-Animal Bond Certification to all veterinary students across the U.S. in 2025. Given the importance of clinical skills and understanding the connection between pets and their owners, this collaboration aims to equip future veterinarians with essential knowledge about the science behind the human-animal bond. This certification will help students learn how to: · Apply the neurological science of human-animal relationships. · Enhance doctor-client interactions. · Implement protocols that strengthen bonds during veterinary visits. · Provide compassionate end-of-life care. Since launching in 2018, over 1,500 professionals have completed this certification. Now, we’re removing financial barriers so today’s students can build these crucial skills from the start of their career.
