How can we work towards a more pet-friendly society? This question was at the forefront of our EU Companion Animal Stakeholder Summit last week where we shared our Human Animal Bond Handbook. The handbook provides real-world examples and actionable insights meant to assist decision-makers in shaping policies that foster positive relationships with companion animals. Together with the Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations FECAVA and the FVE - Federation of Veterinarians of Europe, we stand poised to champion policies that honor the timeless bond between humans and animals. We’re excited to partner with the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) and the Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI) to offer free Human-Animal Bond Certification to all #VeterinaryStudents across the U.S. in 2025. This certification program will equip future veterinary professionals with the essential knowledge and skills they need to boost the health and well-being of both pets and their owners. Read more below 👇
When I think about what matters in veterinary medicine, two things stand out above all: the education of our future practitioners and the human-animal bond they’ll nurture. That’s why I’m proud to share that Zoetis has partnered with the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) and the Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI) to offer free Human-Animal Bond Certification to all veterinary students across the U.S. in 2025. Given the importance of clinical skills and understanding the connection between pets and their owners, this collaboration aims to equip future veterinarians with essential knowledge about the science behind the human-animal bond. This certification will help students learn how to: · Apply the neurological science of human-animal relationships. · Enhance doctor-client interactions. · Implement protocols that strengthen bonds during veterinary visits. · Provide compassionate end-of-life care. Since launching in 2018, over 1,500 professionals have completed this certification. Now, we’re removing financial barriers so today’s students can build these crucial skills from the start of their career. Interested students can register through VetFolio: https://lnkd.in/ecWSmVCa. #ZoetisProud #AnimalHealth #VeterinaryEducation #HumanAnimalBond #VeterinaryMedicine #VeterinaryStudents

Today, on World Parasite Awareness Day, we emphasize the need to control parasites to slow their spread and minimize disease risk. With climate shifts, travel increasing, and animals moving more freely, parasites can spread to new areas, putting pets and people at risk if left unprotected. We are committed to ensuring pets receive the care they need by providing veterinarians and pet owners with tools to help protect against harmful parasites. #ParasiteAwarenessDay

Our colleagues are always striving to advance care for animals while minimizing our environmental footprint. With a recent completion of a solar panel project at our Rutherford site in Australia, we currently have six manufacturing sites across the world that operate with on-site renewable energy. By harnessing the power of the sun, these sites are reducing their reliance on non-renewable energy sources and cutting down on greenhouse gas emissions. These solar panel projects will serve as models for other sites across our network to implement innovative solutions that positively impact energy consumption. #Sustainability

Livestock farmers and the health of their animals are key to global food systems and meeting rising nutrition needs, and it’s essential to strengthen their economic stability as they face challenges posed by climate shocks. Supported by a $1.2 million grant from the Zoetis Foundation to World Food Program USA, the World Food Programme is strengthening pastoralist communities by improving financial stability and access to veterinary services. Since 2023, the program has reached 95,000+ pastoralists, supported 180+ veterinary providers, and vaccinated 220,000+ livestock — fostering sustainable livelihoods and a resilient future for pastoralists in Kenya and Ethiopia. Learn more about the work being done in Isiolo County and the Zoetis Foundation’s commitment to enhance farmer livelihoods. https://lnkd.in/eNF98HQC #Sustainability #AnimalHealth
