As I reflect on my first day in Davos, I'm struck by the urgency and complexity of the challenges our global society faces. The theme for this year’s Forum, "Collaboration for the Intelligent Age," certainly resonates, as leaders grapple with global conflicts, climate change, and geopolitical uncertainties and the deployment of AI.   Inside the Congress Centre, early discussions centred on future preservation, global communications, and aligning government and corporate efforts to bring about positive societal change. It's clear to many of the stakeholders attending this year’s event that global cooperation has plateaued and we need new strategies to adapt. Five key themes emerged:   1.      Reimagining growth 2.      Industries in the Intelligent Age 3.      Investing in People 4.      Rebuilding Trust 5.      Safeguarding the planet   These key discussion points underscore the interconnected nature of the global challenges we face.   Outside, the promenade buzzed with AI innovations, showcasing how the technology will provide solutions to these challenges, many of which are already shaping the future of Commercial Real Estate in particular.    It’s clear that collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to positive change will be crucial in navigating the challenges ahead. #WEF2025 #DavosAgenda #GlobalLeadership #JLL #CRE

𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗴𝗲 🤖🧠 Just returned from two inspiring days in Davos! It’s always fascinating to see how this small Swiss town and ski resort transforms into a global decision-making hub during the World Economic Forum. For one week, its promenade becomes a vibrant stage where nations, industries, and changemakers unite to shape the future. This year, the theme of 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗲 struck a chord with me. As the saying goes: "𝘐𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘰 𝘧𝘢𝘴𝘵, 𝘨𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦; 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘰 𝘧𝘢𝘳, 𝘨𝘰 𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳." It’s a powerful reminder that navigating geopolitical tensions and tackling today’s challenges —sustainability, climate change, equality—requires collective action. I had the privilege of attending The Female Quotient #equalitylounge, #worldwomandavosagenda, #ClimateHubDavos, Loft of Shared Dreams, Deloitte, and AI House Davos, plus witnessing innovation in action with UpLink - World Economic Forum at #SalesforceDreampitch: fueling entrepreneurial ideas that reimagine growth. From visionary discussions on how AI can bridge societal gaps to actionable insights on climate strategies, the energy in these rooms was electric. These exchanges strenghened my belief that 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 is the foundation to solving these wicked issues and underscored the importance of driving progress for 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥. The challenges ahead are immense, but the energy, mindset, and collaboration I witnessed in Davos left me with a renewed sense of purpose. Inflation and geopolitical fragmentation were central to the discussions, highlighting the need for industries to adapt with strategic responses. Resilience is no longer optional—it requires businesses to rethink supply chains, manage risks, and maintain stability in an unpredictable global landscape. The Global Risks Report 2025, released during the forum, further emphasized the urgency of collective action. The report highlighted key risks such as state-based armed conflicts, misinformation, and extreme weather events, all of which are expected to intensify in the coming years. These interconnected challenges are reshaping global priorities, demanding greater investment in resilience, sustainable solutions, and stronger multilateral cooperation to address both immediate and long-term concerns. For the mining sector, these themes are particularly relevant. As the industry plays a critical role in providing the raw materials for technological innovation and the energy transition, it must adapt to geopolitical and environmental challenges while embracing sustainability. Investments in advanced technologies, such as AI and automation, can enhance operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Collaboration between public and private sectors will also be key to ensuring that mining contributes positively to global efforts in addressing climate change and fostering inclusive economic growth. The role of technology was another dominant focus. Advancements in artificial intelligence, automation, and data analytics are not just reshaping industries—they’re redefining what’s possible. By leveraging these innovations, we have an opportunity to unlock efficiencies, enhance decision-making, and tackle some of the most pressing global challenges. Empowering women emerged as a critical driver of economic progress. Bridging the funding gap and supporting women as entrepreneurs, investors, and leaders is key to unlocking untapped potential and driving inclusive growth. Climate action remains a priority, with discussions emphasizing the need for collaboration between public and private sectors. Scaling innovative solutions and directing investments toward sustainability are essential steps in addressing the climate crisis and ensuring a greener future. As the conversations in Davos turn to action, the message is clear: progress requires us to work together, embrace innovation, and act with purpose.
