#MemberSpotlight | 💬 “Driving at speeds between 80 to 120 kilometers per hour, we collect over 2 million data points per second, along with high-fidelity imagery. This massive amount of information undergoes extensive processing and analysis, where AI plays a crucial role. What’s exciting is that we’re not just applying AI to point clouds, but also using imagery, which is critical for understanding the context of what we’re observing,” said Boris Skopljak, Vice President, Trimble Geospatial. 👉 Watch the full interview for more insight: https://lnkd.in/dzHzjnti Trimble Inc. #WGIC #GeospatialTechnology #GeoAI #MobileMapping #HighFidelityData #DataAnalytics #SmartMapping #PointClouds #ImageryAnalysis #GeospatialInnovation #TrimbleGeospatial #AIApplications #SensorFusion

Revisiting the top downloaded episodes of Impact AI... Bringing transparency and accuracy to the marketplace by producing high-quality data on all types of hard problems is a main focus for today’s guest and the company he works for. I am pleased to welcome David Marvin to Impact AI. David was the Co-Founder and CEO of Salo Sciences, which was acquired by Planet last year, and is now the Product Lead for Forest Ecosystems there! He joins me to talk about monitoring forests. We delve into his background and path to Salo Sciences and their eventual acquisition by Planet; including the original mission and vision and what they worked to accomplish at Salo. David then explains his goals and focus at Planet, and unpacks the types of satellite imagery, models, and sensors they incorporate into their data and outputs. He highlights their approach to validation, how they are reducing bias, and how they are integrating extensive knowledge to empower their machine learning developers to create powerful models. https://lnkd.in/ePahuHG4 #RemoteSensing #EarthObservation #MachineLearning #DeepLearning #ComputerVision

⏩ "Ecopia’s data allows us to overcome the limitations of manual data collection by providing a more comprehensive and accurate picture of our pedestrian network, ensuring that we capture a fuller representation of the region's infrastructure,” - Joshua Manning ⏪ Previously, South Central Planning and Development Commission undertook a manual sidewalk inventory, where planning staff drove along major roadways to identify sidewalks and evaluate their quality and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). While this method provided valuable insights, it was time-consuming and ultimately led to incomplete data, as many sidewalks—particularly those off arterial or collector roads—were overlooked. Recognizing the challenges associated with manual digitization, SCPDC partnered with Ecopia. Ecopia leveraged AI-powered technology to quickly deliver comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date transportation data, including sidewalk inventory data across the region.
Ecopia AI is excited to announce the delivery of high-precision geospatial data to the South Central Planning and Development Commission (SCPDC) to support active transportation planning in the region. Ecopia’s AI-powered technology quickly delivered high-precision transportation data, including sidewalk inventory data across the region, providing a comprehensive and accurate picture of SCPDC’s pedestrian network.
