Creating safer and more accessible transportation networks starts with understanding existing infrastructure. This engaging new StoryMap from High Street highlights their work with the City of Bozeman to identify and prioritize gaps in the city's bicycle and pedestrian networks. 🚲🚶♀️ Ecopia was proud to support this initiative by providing comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date bike lane and sidewalk inventories across the city. This data, combined with Strava activity insights and fieldwork, played a key role in identifying gaps to help inform future improvements. This initiative is a major step toward creating a safer, more connected transportation system for all who live, work, and move through Bozeman. 📍 Explore the interactive StoryMap here to learn more: https://lnkd.in/g9NNTACj
High Street recently partnered with the City of Bozeman to identify and prioritize gaps in the city’s bicycle and pedestrian networks. Led by Mark Egge, our team leveraged data from Ecopia AI to create a full inventory of sidewalks, bike lanes, and shared-use paths. We compared this inventory against Strava Metro activity data and fieldwork to identify all gaps in the city's networks. Using a prioritization framework, we scored the gaps to help guide future improvements. Big thanks to Matthew Ward for data prep, Ryan Caro for scoring, and Joe Gilpin of Gilpin Transportation Consulting for his bike/ped expertise! From land use change to property construction to population movement and everything in between, the physical world is constantly evolving - but most mapping data can’t keep up. Traditional geospatial data creation methods are time-consuming and resource-intensive, leading organizations to work with stale data that doesn’t truly reflect real-world conditions. Ecopia is on a mission to build a digital twin of the Earth to enable organizations to stay up-to-date with our dynamically changing planet. Our 3D mapping data is extracted from the most current geospatial imagery, providing an accurate digital representation of the physical world to inform analytics in risk assessment, land use planning, and more.
