These are different flows, methodologies and practices across industry but intention is same i.e. "Confidence of Zero defect design". To achieve it, fundamentals should be clear and deeply understood.. and it's not an easy task. One who is aspiring to be a Verification Expert, should have these technical knowhow -- 1. Testbench Architecture: To generate stimulus and observe the outputs. 2. Design understanding: Either IP or Integrated subsystem or Complete SoC or Chiplet 3. Measurement criteria for Design correctness: Functional coverage, Code coverage, Assertion coverage, Protocol checks coverage etc.. Same Manager : For Another project, to Contract Engineer BC why it's not working, Next Meeting : to Lead, BC why it's not working. Lead to colleague Engineer : Now getting the same BC slogan in stand up meeting also, and this contract resource not able to solve that debug from long, can we do something. Engineer : don't worry now, will see it, just wait . after 55 hours of continues debug engineer reach office & direct meet to the manager, these are debug observations, who is the code developer engineer want to discuss with him , code is missing . after meeting the developer , yes extra piece of code required add and run. 5 Mistakes I made as a Verification Engineer Someone recently asked me about my experience working as a Verification engineer and if I have any advice to share to engineers starting now. I thought it would be better if I shared some of the silly mistakes I made back then. These are things I’ve learned to improve over time especially points 2 and 5 - which weren’t very clear to me at first. I still remember filing bugs without going too deep in the RTL and sometimes getting my analysis completely wrong. I also used to delete passing logs and coverage files too soon - struggling to provide results later when asked. Does this sound relatable?
