Did you know the origins of modern leather tooling can be traced back to ancient Hellenistic art? Back then, North African Berbers embraced the intricate arabesque patterns, but due to religious beliefs, were limited to geometric and floral designs. These motifs found their way into artistic leatherwork. Later, these designs were brought to Spain in 700 AD during the Berber invasion. The Spanish refined the intricate leather carving that crossed the Atlantic during the Spanish conquest. By the 1800s, American craftsmen adopted this style, with the most distinguished examples crafted for California’s elite. Thus, the most refined examples became California-style tooling. After that, the Visalia saddle shop set the stage, and craftsmen like Don King uplifted the art into what became known as the Sheridan-style carving. Those saddle houses crafted unique designs, often creating custom tools for the job. Individual carvers added their flair, turning leatherwork into an art imitating art. What started as art for utility has blossomed into an enduring legacy of craftsmanship. Now leatherwork is more than fashion; it’s history, heritage, and art. So, next time you see a finely tooled leather piece, remember: it’s not just a craft. It’s a story stitched through centuries. #leather #art #modernleather

Vintage ring designs are captivating due to their rich history, intricate craftsmanship, and distinctive styles reflective of different eras. For instance, Victorian rings (1837-1901) often feature ornate designs with romantic motifs like hearts, flowers, and snakes, symbolizing eternal love. Art Nouveau rings (1890-1910) are renowned for their flowing, organic shapes and nature-inspired themes, often incorporating enamel and colorful gemstones. Edwardian rings (1901-1915) highlight filigree work and delicate lace-like patterns, frequently set with diamonds and sapphires. Art Deco rings (1920-1935) are celebrated for their geometric patterns, bold colors, and use of contrasting materials like platinum and onyx. Each of these periods offers a unique glimpse into the past, making vintage rings timeless treasures. #vintagerings #fireandbrilliance

in India once there were several red diamonds in marquise shape and they are named as KISHTI. The royal families wear these red diamonds. Later on in 1960 the rich people tried to get this shape in synthetics. thousand of synthetic kishti floated in India from abroad and it became difficult to sort out which one is real red diamond and which one is synthetic red imitation. Thanks to manufacturer of imitations who rotted the Indian diamonds. thanks to diamond dealers of India who search for rough diamonds and do not search how to pick cut diamonds from synthetic one. thanks to introduction of daily emerging new polishing techniques introduced that makes the old diamond cutting more and more typical. As they work on coefficient of friction and we don't know anything about it and simple say that the piece gets red in contact of rotating skaife and hence not diamond without thinking a bit about CMP. (Chemical Mechanical Polishing).

Rarely do we encounter royal blue coloration as intensely saturated within stones so petite. These paired 4 ct Burmese sapphire ovals emanate hues that demand acute appreciation, despite small carat weights belying their splendor 💙💙 Natural stones attain brilliance through inherent qualities, not size alone. Over eons, earth’s pressures imbued these gems with velvety tones timeless in their allure. Left untreated, their color stands testament to craftsmanship unseen - nature’s alone. Rarified finds invite discerning collectorship. Inquire for comparable treasures or custom designs befitting gems of such investment grade. Superior traits require no mass; only an enlightened eye appreciates nature’s finest in miniature. #CaramGems #burmesesapphires #royalbluesapphires #naturalgemstones #untreatedgems #miniaturegems #investmentgems #gemstonecollectors #bespokejewelry #heirloomquality #mastergoldsmith #purebluecolor #royalblue #saturatedhue #colorwithoutcompare #exquisitegems

Here’s some thoughts: The Art of Marble with Dull Golden Accents: A Look Back at Timeless Elegance In artistry, each piece tells a story, and this one holds a special place in my journey as an artist. A year ago, I completed a project using marble with dull golden accents, merging classic elements with a subtle touch of modern luxury. The marble’s natural elegance combined with dull golden highlights created a work that remains close to my heart. This project allowed me to explore the understated beauty that golden accents can bring to the marble’s textured surface. The GP resin used not only enhanced the durability of the piece but also preserved the essence of timeless sophistication. The materials are silent storytellers, carrying with them the depth of the artistry. Looking back, this creation represents my ongoing commitment to blending tradition with contemporary artistry. It’s a reminder of how small details can elevate a material without overwhelming it, and how art is about finding balance and letting the material speak for itself. #ThrowbackArt #MarbleCraft #GoldenAccents #ArtisticJourney #TimelessDesign

A 3.11ct Antique Rose Cut Diamond [Interested in Antique Diamonds? ➡️➡️➡️ Join our Facebook Group "Antique Diamond Enthusiasts" 💎] Rose Cut diamonds are among the oldest diamond cuts, predating the Brilliant Cuts like the Old Mine and Old European by centuries. The only earlier cuts are the Table and Point Cuts, but those lacked the visual appeal of Rose Cuts, which were designed to truly interact with light. While Rose Cuts are still being made today, modern versions are often cut from rough material that is too flat to take on other shapes. As a result, they can lack the life and character that define their antique counterparts. Antique Rose Cuts, like this stunning 3.11ct gem, are entirely different. With a high dome, organic free-form shape, and beautifully reflective facets, they radiate light in a way that feels almost magical. Holding a stone like this is like holding a piece of history—a light not just from the present, but from the past. It’s a reminder of the artistry and craftsmanship that made these diamonds timeless treasures. . . . . #rosecutdiamonds #rosecut #antiquediamond #antiquejewelryofinstagram #antiquejewelry #diamondhistory #diamondsareforever #loosediamonds #realisrare #jewelryideas #jewellerydesign #vintagediamondring
