How to Invest in Antiques: A Beginner’s Guide Investing in antiques is like opening a time capsule to the past, filled with stories, artistry, and timeless charm. For beginners, the journey starts with understanding what appeals to you—be it vintage furniture, rare coins, classic jewelry, or historical artifacts. Research is your best friend; learn about the item's history, market value, and authenticity before making a purchase. Start small with pieces you genuinely love, as passion is a cornerstone of successful antique collecting. Authenticity is key when it comes to antiques. Knowing how to spot genuine items and avoiding reproductions or fakes is an essential skill. Partnering with reputable dealers, attending antique fairs, and consulting experts can give you the confidence to make informed decisions. Lastly, think of antiques not only as investments but also as pieces that add character to your life. Unlike stocks or bonds, antiques are tangible assets you can display, enjoy, and pass down as heirlooms. Patience is crucial; the value of antiques often appreciates over decades. A 3.11ct Antique Rose Cut Diamond [Interested in Antique Diamonds? ➡️➡️➡️ Join our Facebook Group "Antique Diamond Enthusiasts" 💎] Rose Cut diamonds are among the oldest diamond cuts, predating the Brilliant Cuts like the Old Mine and Old European by centuries. The only earlier cuts are the Table and Point Cuts, but those lacked the visual appeal of Rose Cuts, which were designed to truly interact with light. While Rose Cuts are still being made today, modern versions are often cut from rough material that is too flat to take on other shapes. As a result, they can lack the life and character that define their antique counterparts. Antique Rose Cuts, like this stunning 3.11ct gem, are entirely different. With a high dome, organic free-form shape, and beautifully reflective facets, they radiate light in a way that feels almost magical. Holding a stone like this is like holding a piece of history—a light not just from the present, but from the past. It’s a reminder of the artistry and craftsmanship that made these diamonds timeless treasures. . . . . #rosecutdiamonds #rosecut #antiquediamond #antiquejewelryofinstagram #antiquejewelry #diamondhistory #diamondsareforever #loosediamonds #realisrare #jewelryideas #jewellerydesign #vintagediamondring

in India once there were several red diamonds in marquise shape and they are named as KISHTI. The royal families wear these red diamonds. Later on in 1960 the rich people tried to get this shape in synthetics. thousand of synthetic kishti floated in India from abroad and it became difficult to sort out which one is real red diamond and which one is synthetic red imitation. Thanks to manufacturer of imitations who rotted the Indian diamonds. thanks to diamond dealers of India who search for rough diamonds and do not search how to pick cut diamonds from synthetic one. thanks to introduction of daily emerging new polishing techniques introduced that makes the old diamond cutting more and more typical. As they work on coefficient of friction and we don't know anything about it and simple say that the piece gets red in contact of rotating skaife and hence not diamond without thinking a bit about CMP. (Chemical Mechanical Polishing).

MakeUp for wooden furniture - potal and patina! Art and applied craftsmanship are rich in terminology, among which the words "gilding" and "patina" hold a special place. These terms are often used when describing both antique and modern objects, but what do they mean and what is their main difference? Let's take a closer look. Gilding and patina are terms important in art and restoration, related to surface treatment. Patina is a thin layer that forms on the surface of metals (most commonly copper and bronze) over time. It can develop naturally or be artificially created. Patination is the process of applying patina to give an object an antique, aged appearance. For example, in Europe, many historical buildings and sculptures are covered with patina, which gives them a special, rich color and distinctive appearance. MORE INFO : https://lnkd.in/dhZ7WEMD

Today’s story at FabCuro is rooted in rich history, tradition and craftsmanship with this ginger jar. Throughout the ages, vases have been more than just vessels; they’ve served as cultural artifacts that tell stories of the societies that crafted them. In particular, floral motifs on vases, like this one, trace back to early civilizations. For instance, during the Tang Dynasty in China, vases were often adorned with intricate floral motifs, symbolizing life, beauty, and harmony. This jar, with its floral pattern, evokes a deep connection to those historical roots, combining both artistry and function. In ancient times, flowers and vases held significant roles in religious and festive ceremonies, as seen in Egypt where flowers were placed in vases during banquets and religious rituals. These early examples of floral motifs on porcelain were later embraced by various cultures, evolving into the ornate and symbolic designs we cherish today. This stunning porcelain jar embodies that journey, paying homage to history while fitting seamlessly into modern decor. #homedecor #vintagedecor #floraldesign #artefacts
