DYK?: Critical care hospitals like Vibra Hospital of Denver play a key role in our local healthcare community. 🏥 A critical care hospital is a type of specialty hospital that provides care for individuals suffering from critical and chronic medical issues. These patients often arrive on a ventilator and require an extended hospital stay, which is why they are sometimes called a "long-term acute care hospital" -- but don't let the name fool you: this name simply contrasts the length of stay against a general hospital.
