Best invest in Building and talking about Fusion power, space, maritime propulsion systems and industry as data centres are. Great Headline, Guardian on Nuclear fission. https://lnkd.in/g8sMZtpR People talk about Nuclear (meaning Fission) and fail to discuss fusion. https://lnkd.in/ge_aeX7M The nuclear fission industry is ignorant of what's happening around it. It must pull its collective uranium heads out of the sand and prepare to enter the commercially growing fusion energy industry. Fission is moving towards obsolescence at an ever-increasing pace, as it is "out of step, out of time, out of place, and soon to be out of Fuel" and merely temporary. https://lnkd.in/gbd_mZqk By 2028, Helion is expected to start producing electricity from its first fusion commercial power plant, which will provide electricity to Microsoft. The plant will produce at least 50 MWe after an initial ramp-up period. https://lnkd.in/gY9J3MQY Now, see what is happening in the world of the fusion industry. https://lnkd.in/g9hMBD7a As fission trebles, fuel shortage is increasingly real, https://lnkd.in/gze5rwpr

Family is an important aspect of a person's life, and they play a major role in the growth and development of an individual which in turn impacts the nation. The unit of a society is the family; No family, no society. May 15 is known as the international day of families to celebrate them for their role and contribution to the lives of people, including the challenges they face. Today also marks the 30th year anniversary of the celebration. The theme for this year's celebration is Families and Climate change, creating awareness on the impact of climate change on families and the role families play in climate action. #climatechange #family #climateaction #carecity

WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER! "So we broke the planet... now what?" "Climate activist Peter McCartney has these parting words for all of us as he moves on from his role at Wilderness Committee. Peter McCartney September 5, 2024" https://lnkd.in/e99BgTU3 "These are not natural features of our biosphere. They are the result of an inequitable socio-economic system that prioritizes profits and power, not people or the planet." (Read the PDF version of the report!") "CLIMATE DISASTERS HIT VULNERABLE PEOPLE HARDEST" "WE MUST HOLD ONTO OUR HUMANITY AS THE WORLD WARMS" "Indigenous rights" "Labour rights" "Migrant rights" "Ending violent conflict" See references: "Globally, militaries are responsible for 5.5 per cent of climate pollution. --------- Solutions must promote peace and focus on resilience and relief efforts worldwide." "LIFE CAN GET BETTER EVEN AS WE CONSUME LESS" *"By 2030, humans will consume twice the resources the planet can provide. 24 Lifestyles in wealthy, industrialized nations — that much of the world is rapidly pursuing — are literally unsustainable. They cannot and will not continue forever. The sooner our species finds a way to live on Earth as if we plan to stay, the better. Thankfully this doesn’t mean returning to the stone age. It’s about finding smart ways to be more intentional about how best to use the resources we need." "MAKING LIFE CHEAPER THROUGH CLIMATE ACTION" "WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER" "TAKE ACTION Get involved in climate justice in your community: Learn how climate disasters are disproportionately affecting the vulnerable people in your community. Don’t be afraid to ask! Look for groups in your community fighting climate change and its impacts. Join a meeting and find ways to get involved. There’s never a shortage of work to be done. Show up in a good way. Consider a workshop or do some reading on power dynamics and anti-oppression. Be open to feedback and listen more than you speak. Spread the word! Share this paper with your friends, family and social networks." *Think of our collective future which cannot survive without the earth. Think of our kids, grandkids and vulnerable. Above all else we must care for each other and the planet. Never say never as we remind ourselves of the incredible feats that mobilized society has accomplished in history. Read The Lorax-ew

🇧🇿 🌊 “Sea-level rise is a devastating event that certainly is long-term and it affects our country severely. We are a low-lying country in terms of the coastal areas." Last week we were at the SIDS4 conference in Antigua & Barbuda, talking to people about their takeaways from the conference and what they take with them to the Sea-Level Rise Summit on 25 September in New York City during UNGA79. Listen to our interview with the Minister of Climate Change and Sustainable Development of Belize, H.E. Orlando Habet, about the impacts of sea-level rise.
