In the famous trade of 2013, the Boston Celtics traded their best players to the Brooklyn Nets for an unwanted player alongside future Draft Picks. At that time, the trade seemed to favor Brooklyn.
However, Boston had a different vision. The future Draft Picks (2016 & 2017) that people initially thought was a foolish decision back in 2013, led them to acquire their best 2 players in their current team: Jaylen Brown & Jayson Tatum.

They both have at least 10 more years to go at top level, and might end up as one of the best duos in the history of the sport.
In contrast, Brooklyn Nets has not achieved anything remarkable since the trade in 2013.
