Building something meaningful starts with a leap of faith. Two years ago, I took mine. What began as a small, scrappy meetup group in Amsterdam became a full-blown mission: to elevate the Customer Success profession across Europe. ❇️ 𝗠𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝗜𝗸𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗶. The journey? Wild. 🎢 ➡️ We went from zero followers to 4,000. ➡️ From one city to seven, with more on the horizon. ➡️ From a single event format to four distinct experiences. ➡️ It took hundreds of liters of coffee, countless late nights, and dozens of mistakes. ➡️ I balanced 40-hour work weeks while doubling down on this dream. And I wasn’t alone. Incredible partners believed in the mission. 📣 CS Connect is about taking this profession to the place it deserves. And now, it’s time for the next chapter. ❇️ 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘆. We’ve been navigating the explosion of CS communities, newsletters, and podcasts for two years. It’s noisy, competitive, and, at times, overwhelming. But the past 12 months? Game-changing. Through countless conversations with our partners and community members, we’ve found clarity. A clear direction. A purpose that cuts through the noise. 𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗦 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆—𝘄𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲. And now, we’re ready to double down on what matters most: 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿. From a conversation this morning... Summarized - we're having trouble getting the team to use our new software. People are still using old spreadsheets, paper, anything else. Even though the software does all the things they are doing in the old system. It's not a software problem ... and it almost never is. And it's not quite fair to JUST say it's a people problem. I mean, it is, because people have to decide to make the change, but people, systems, and change are hard. 👁️ Without a clear VISION (a destination of time and place of where we are going and what we are doing together and when we want to go there - people will be confused. They won't see the value in making the change. 🛠️ Without the SKILLS, people get stuck in anxiety paralysis and fall back to what they know. People need the appropriate training (often repeat training) and the opportunity to learn and practice to gain confidence. ➕ Without INCENTIVES, people will struggle to move at a pace that reaches the destination on time. Incentives vary and aren't always money... encouragement, recognition, time, experience, etc. are all incentives. What motivates you? 💲 ⏱️ Without RESOURCES, including time, resource, talent - people will be frustrated. They WANT to move forward, but if they don't have the resources to make the change, they'll feel blocked and frustrated. ☑️ Without an ACTION PLAN people will get stuck on step one. Without sharing and committing to the plan TOGETHER the team won't arrive together. Maybe won't arrive at the same place. without an action plan, project start, but don't finish. ------------------- I help organizations understand which of these levers is holding them back and implement a simple system to thrive as a team, quarter by quarter, week by week.
