5 years, EnticEdge, wow. The highs and lows of owning a business are real. There’s an unpredictability in needing the whole team to be perpetually nimble and to not just be ‘open to change’ but to drive change, while evolving daily to meet client needs and our own business needs. I actually love it, and I love helping people grow their businesses, build a division, launch a new product or service, and manage the complexities of brands. Our value mapping sessions and strategic advising require constant learning (which I also love) and an ability to help envision forward in order to implement actionable strategies cross-departmentally to get to the goals, and if healthcare is one thing, it’s not dull!
Strategy isn’t a few paragraphs on a piece of paper - it’s a daily threading! Picture a threaded needle coming from the (agreed upon) strategic plan and working its way through each department of an organization to thread them together around the strategic roadmap, and the needle hits the goals only when the business is in sync around what the strategic goals are and each team member’s role (every day) in driving toward them. All the while, teams should be hearing from the outside-in (think customers, partners, again - customers), analyzing data, understanding competitive market dynamics, adapting to change, and trying to figure out the “what next” (which each department takes in with their own unique lens).
Compassion, flexibility, prioritization of strategic initiatives, collaboration, and understanding are necessities to empower change internally within businesses and as business consultants. It’s dynamic, ever-evolving, and a challenge. Good stuff, and EnticEdge doesn’t happen without all of us, so thank you, TEAM, trusted partners, of course our amazing clients, and a special shoutout to my co-founder who brings so much of what we do to life visually (and so much more!) Madeline Dunne - freedom to openly challenge each other’s thinking makes us better professionals (and people).

Statistic (Expanded):
"According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), approximately 20% of new businesses fail during the first two years of being open, 45% during the first five years, and 65% during the first 10 years. Only 25% of new businesses make it to 15 years or more. These statistics haven't changed much over time, and have been fairly consistent since the 1990s." (Source: https://lnkd.in/ef3_dC2D.)
