Just finished reading Greg Ashman's article, Education research – the evidence, and it really got me thinking. Ashman delves into the complexities of educational research, challenging us to critically examine the evidence we often take for granted. It's a thought-provoking piece that underscores the importance of questioning and understanding the research that shapes our teaching practices. Highly recommend it to anyone passionate about improving education through evidence-based methods. https://lnkd.in/gwAmbvB4

See below. There is a call out for a special issue proposal for JUTLP. Perhaps it is timely for one on the Recognition of Prior Learning, Microcredential pathways, VET-HE pathways, curriculum design principles that value prior learning, universal design for learning, Recognition of Indigenous Knowledges, and what I've called 'Recognition Practices'. Anyone in my network interested in writing a proposal? #RPL #microcredentials #lifelonglearning #Recognition
Call for special issue of Journal of University Teaching and Learning Practice. The Journal of University Teaching and Learning Practice invites proposals for special issues on contemporary themes associated with effective and innovative teaching and learning practice in the higher education environment. The expectation is that the special issue would be of interest to an international audience. To propose a special issue please complete the Special Issue Proposal and return to the Senior Editor, Special Issues Dr Cassandra Colvin by email c.colvin@ecu.edu.au. The Journal periodically has specific calls for Special Issues, but also accepts unsolicited proposals. https://lnkd.in/gwmB4vdf

Heard more fun news today - my chapter contribution to the new academic book "Experiences of Child-free PK-16 Educators: Bias, Perspectives, and Assumptions" has been published! Chapter 9, called "Challenging the Ideal: The Complex Realities of the Childfree in the Academic Landscape" is based on both the existing research and the voices of child-free interviewees working in higher education. Contributing to this timely and important topic was an honor! https://lnkd.in/gi9cAZrf

MSU Professor Lynn Paine co-edited “The World Yearbook of Education 2025,” published by Routledge. The volume, “The Teaching Profession in a Globalizing World: Governance, Career, Learning,” focuses on the teacher policies and governance of the teaching perspective within contemporary contexts of societal changes and globalization. It is the first volume in the series dedicated to an “overview of globalized teacher policies and their implications for the status of the teaching profession across the world,” according to Routledge’s website.
