Google has just issued an apology for a technical glitch that caused ads to show up on other advertisers' placements starting July 30th. Rest assured, no PII or payment info was compromised, and your account wasn’t billed for these ads. Google has since fixed the issue, corrected the reports, and sent out emails to those affected. The #1 reason every brand should use Google Ads. Google's 'Pay Per Conversion' feature found in Google Display Network. 95% of brands I talk to don't know even know this exists. Imagine advertising your brand at scale and exclusively paying for new customers at an agreed upon, flat rate. It's profitable, scalable and very hands off once dialed in. Here's how we do it 👇

Google has a sneaky way to guilt you into spending more money. And it rarely works in your favour. Every time we see the display network turned on in a search campaign? ...we know Google's probably gone a bit rogue and can show your search ads on any website they want. You never want display network turned on inside a search campaign – it'll blow through your budget without generating results. If you see this inside an ad account, turn it off using the following steps – navigate to the campaign > campaign settings toggle 'network' untick 'display network' > save Google will lie to you and say "Don’t miss the opportunity to get additional conversions at similar or lower costs with just one click." But ignore this, they're just trying to line their pockets with delicious ad revenue. While you're at it, review the network performance split to see if it's worth running ads on search partners as well. Here's a 3 minute video showing you how to do that 👀 And here's to making 2025 the year of less wasted advertising spend 🎉

Wow 🚩 we were auditing a Google Ad account yesterday spending about £20,000 a month on ads......🚩 The current agency had only made a handful of optimisations in the past 90 days which was concerning because; - conversion tracking was awful and numbers were inflated - even with the inflated tracking most campaigns were making a loss - mistakes everywhere like broken links and missing logo / images - really poor campaign / account structure & set up Within minutes we found tonnes of errors..... £60,000 had been spent in the past 90 days and barely anything had been done in the account 🤦♂️ It's not uncommon for us to hear about other businesses 'bad past experiences' with agencies / marketers and this a prime example...... Do better. #ppc #googleads #agency

Why Google Ads Policies Matter for Your Business 🚀 Running ads on Google isn’t just about setting a budget and choosing keywords—it’s about ensuring your ads comply with Google’s advertising policies. Google Ads and Google AdSense are distinct advertising platforms by Google. Google Ads is for advertisers, allowing businesses to create ads that appear on Google search results and partner websites. Advertisers pay per click or impression to drive traffic and sales. Google AdSense, on the other hand, is for website publishers. It enables them to earn revenue by displaying Google Ads on their sites. Publishers receive payments when visitors click or view these ads. Essentially, Google Ads is for buying ad space, while Google AdSense is for selling ad space.

A lot of damaging information from the DOJ investigation on the price manipulations in Google. If you've been in digital marketing, you've been well aware CPCs have drastically increased every year mostly without any rhyme or logical reason (brand CPC is a prime example). Between CPC price inflations, data obfuscations on search terms, the expansion of close variants and disintegration of match types Google has been making us all pay more for a lesser quality product (for both advertisers and searchers). This should not despair you though. It's a fantastic reason to 1. Hire professionals to continuously find the most optimal profit margin in Google Ads 2. Decrease reliance of digital paid efforts on Google alone (margins will likely continue to shrink) 3. Invest in organic search and social to cover the gap and increasing costs in paid #Googleads #DOJ #digitalmarketing

The most criminally underused feature in Google Ads? Notes. We use notes in all our client accounts. It is the best way to highlight changes that happen in the account because they show up where the change happens. Big changes in the account. New campaign launches, promo periods, issues with tracking, bid changes, etc. Anything that could prompt performance changes that someone would see on the chart. Yes, you can keep a history internally as well, but visibility inside the platform itself is so so so helpful.
