The most criminally underused feature in Google Ads? Notes. We use notes in all our client accounts. It is the best way to highlight changes that happen in the account because they show up where the change happens. Big changes in the account. New campaign launches, promo periods, issues with tracking, bid changes, etc. Anything that could prompt performance changes that someone would see on the chart. Yes, you can keep a history internally as well, but visibility inside the platform itself is so so so helpful.
I need to get on this tbh. I keep it an external report but would be nice to have them live inside of ad accounts
great idea 💯
HUGE advocate for this
I can’t imagine managing account without this feature… that was the first thing I checked that is available in new design ❤️🔥
Collin Slattery Great feature to use daily! Personally, I'm a big fan.
Collin I'm so glad you posted about this again. Last time you did I commented that I do this all the time. Then a little while ago, those little grey squares disappeared. I can still make notes but the super helpful grey squares don't show up under the graph. You ever have that problem? Anybody know how to turn them back on?
This is interesting because a couple of days ago I was thinking.. I should really use this. I tend to log everything in an Excel sheet which is pointless really, when it comes to sharing the information - as there's an inbuilt feature to use as a timeline. Plus it saves me matching up my Excel log with the data and sending an email. Good shout!
This was my favorite feature in Google Analytics UA, and I was so bummed out that they didn't make it to GA4.
I wish meta had this feature. I can't even see the "history" tab in some accounts :'( Collin Slattery

6moI love being able to open the entire notes panel and review all the notes at once. I have also found that refreshing often will get the notes icon to appear on the graph if they have gone missing.
