Being a pioneer in your field is exciting, but it also comes with some unique challenges. When Alltrna started, there was no pre-existing framework for the production of chemically modified tRNAs. Over the years, the team has pioneered many of the processes and technologies to advance our first engineered tRNA medicines towards the clinic. In this insightful interview with David McCall of BioInsights, our Chief Technology Officer William Kiesman talks about what it is like leading such an innovative team and the processes it has developed, including product synthesis and scaling, proprietary analytical techniques to understand impurity profiles and inform downstream purification steps, and other drug design and quality control steps. He also discusses further advancements the field will need, including: 🔹the use of more ecologically sustainable, enzymatic processes to reduce waste 🔹the ligation of smaller oligonucleotides to make bigger, more complex systems 🔹innovations in oligonucleotide delivery to cells 📚Register for free to read the article in Nucleic Acid Insights: https://lnkd.in/grXYeGcn #tRNA #RNA #tRNAmedicines #tRNAbiology #rarediseases #StopCodonDisease #geneticmedicines #programmablemedicines

🔍Very interesting article in the September edition of GEN (Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News, pages 22-24) comparing scale-out vs. scale-up: https://lnkd.in/eEUUQkHD For RNA production, scaling out provides key advantages: 🤸♂️ Flexibility in production scale ✨ Ease of operation 💰 CAPEX savings 🚀 Improved production performance At Quantoom Biosciences, our RNA production operates in a repeat batch mode: 20mL IVT. All IVT reactions in Ntensify™ midi perform uniformly and with minimized shear forces. Plus, purchasing disposables in bulk helps reduce costs, as they are suitable across all production scales. By choosing scale-out, RNA production is efficient, adaptable, and cost-effective! #RNA #ScaleOut #Ntensify

#EastMabFocus | Featured Product 🔬 How can PDGF Unlock the Potential of Cell Culture? Platelet-derived growth Factor (PDGF) is a dimeric glycoprotein that can be composed of two A subunits (PDGF-AA), two B subunits (PDGF-BB), or a combination of one A and one B subunit (PDGF-AB). It plays an important role in the regulation of cell growth and division. In particular, PDGF can influence blood vessel formation and the growth of blood vessels from already-existing blood vessel tissue. 🚀 Ready to accelerate your research with PDGF? Contact us and discover more about how it can elevate your cell culture outcomes. #LifeScience #Biotechnology #Biotech #PDGF #CellCulture #GrowthFactors #TissueEngineering

Accelerating Cell Culture Media Development Using Bayesian Optimization-Based Iterative Experimental Design Here, we have applied a Bayesian Optimization-based iterative framework for experimental design to accelerate cell culture media development for two applications. First, we show this approach yields new compositions of media with cytokine supplementation to maintain the viability and distribution of PBMCs in culture. Second, we applied this framework to optimize the production of three recombinant proteins in K.phaffii cultivations. For both applications, we identified conditions with improved outcomes compared to the initial standard media using 3 to 30 times fewer experiments than other methods such as the Design of Experiments. Subsequently, we also demonstrated the extensibility of our approach to efficiently account for additional design factors through transfer learning. https://lnkd.in/g9c_7ZxK #aspenalert #biotech #bioprocess
