“𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨. 𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚.” We’re so grateful to have volunteers who bring empathy, time, and care to our Food Aid Service week after week. A powerful reminder that small acts of compassion can have a big impact, whether it's asking how someone is really doing, listening without judgement, or simply showing up. 🧡 The people we serve often face more than material hardship - they face isolation, stress, and uncertainty. But through genuine connection and consistent support, we can remind them they are not alone. 🙏 Thank you to all of our volunteers who continue to show up with kindness and dedication. You are the heart of what we do. 📢 Interested in volunteering with us? We support individuals and families going through incredibly difficult times. And every week, I ask the same few questions: • How are you doing - really? • Is there anything you need that we might have missed? • What would make this feel easier, even just for today? Sometimes the answer is food. Sometimes it’s toiletries. And sometimes - it’s just someone to talk to. The stories we hear are humbling. And the small moments - like someone remembering your name, or returning just to say thank you - are deeply grounding. Volunteering has taught me that dignity, respect, and a genuine check-in can mean everything to someone who feels unseen. It’s not about grand gestures. It’s about presence. And I carry that with me into everything else I do. 🧡 #Volunteering #CommunityCare #EmpathyInAction #SCCYC #HumanConnection #SaturdayService
