I am excited to be emceeing the Abu Dhabi Global Healthcare Week Joint Kick-Off Dinner, organised for an invited VIP audience by AmCham Abu Dhabi, in partnership with AmCham Dubai, Member, Global Network of American Chambers of Commerce (American Business Council) and the US-UAE Business Council. A focus on healthcare innovations, particularly those aimed at enhancing longevity and well-being, is increasingly important in today's global context. Global healthcare spending is projected to rise at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.4% from 2021 to 2028, underscoring a shift from merely treating illnesses to implementing preventive measures that improve quality of life and extend life expectancy. This strategic pivot is vital as the world grapples with the challenges of an aging population, expected to reach nearly 2.1 billion by 2050, a dramatic increase from about 1 billion in 2020. Innovations in medical technology and healthcare practices are essential not only in managing the health demands of this growing demographic but also in ensuring sustainable healthcare systems worldwide. These advancements are pivotal in transforming healthcare outcomes through enhanced diagnostic tools, personalised medicine, and more efficient therapeutic treatments. We'll hear keynote presentations from U.S. Mission to the UAE Ambassador Martina A. Strong, and Fatima Alkaabi, Director General of the Emirates Drug Establishment. I will conduct a fireside chat with Shan J., Vice President, Global Head MedTech Digital at Johnson & Johnson. And then I will moderate a panel discussion on the topic "Cultivating Enduring Health Innovations for Healthy Longevity" with: Nicole Sirotin, MD DipABLM FACP, Chair of Preventive Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi Mazen Bachir, Regional Head of Abbott Middle East Pharma Division and the Chair of The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association in the Gulf (PHRMAG) Brad Kellogg, Director of Consulting Services at Houston Methodist Gllbal Healthcare Sandeep Sethi, Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences Consulting – MEA at JLL. #healthcare #wellbeing #medtech #pharmatech #longevity #ageingpopulations #chronicdiseases #personalisedmedicine #healthtrends #healthinnovations #healthsolutions #healthdiplomacy #healthcaredesign #abudhabi #patientcare
