Yesterday, some of our Rita’s team had the privilege of participating in the Eagles 9/11 Meal Pack Event in partnership with 9/11 Day & AmeriCorps. Our volunteers beautifully demonstrated 2 key Rita’s fundamentals: #30 Be a Brand Ambassador and #31 Treat Each Other Like Family. With the help of dedicated Philadelphia volunteers, 700,000 meals were packed yesterday! We are proud to contribute to this amazing cause and join in spreading kindness in memoriam of those we lost.

As long as you are a Georgia taxpayer, you can be approved (it just takes a few minutes) and make a donation then get 100% of the money back when you file your taxes in 2025. Below is a link to the Goshen Valley website (the Foster Care Organization I support) which has an easy to follow, step-by-step instructions on how to take advantage of this. When you go to the State of Georgia website you will see the other 38 approved FCO's if you want to find one in your area. These organizations depend on our support - and the donations from the tax credit are a GAME CHANGER for them! The need for resource and aid for the LA fires seems daunting. Here's a spreadsheet which includes vetted GoFundMes for families who have lost everything. There are sheets that include displaced Black, Latine, Filipino, disabled families, as well as links to community resources like hotel availability, pro bono therapy, etc. There doesn't seem to be a good way to get everyone's needs met. My suggestion is look at the amount and percentages for families who haven't met 5% of their fundraising goal [suss out what that means: 5% of 15,000 vs. 5% of 120,000].
