🧐 What can organisations do to address the growing challenges of climate change while supporting those who need access to physical activity the most? At Active Sussex, we’ve joined all 43 Active Partnerships in England in signing the new Environmental Sustainability Commitment. Climate change disproportionately affects those already facing inequalities, and we believe it’s vital to act now to ensure access to sport and physical activity for these groups. Many of our members, including Active Sussex, have signed up to a key Environmental Sustainability Commitment created by the Climate Crew. They are committed to supporting and enabling each other within the Active Partnerships network and are focusing on five key elements; 🌱 Embedding Environmental Sustainability 🌍 Joining the movement against climate change 🌿 Designing and promoting more Active Environments 🌊 Advocating for improved access to quality blue and green spaces 🌲 Addressing inequality Climate Crew's chair, David Gent, CEO at Active Humber says "as a network, we are now clearly demonstrating our commitment to doing what we can to tackle this huge issue [...] this is a commitment for us all to act now, and it brings to life what we intend to do and where we think we can have the biggest impact."
