Community impact? The primary impact of this firms business model increases homelessness (currently at 10K+ homeless people on any given night) by gentrifying neighborhoods and forcing people who make less money out. "Global day for people and planet" yet the firm musters up 2 small bins of mostly dog and cat food...this doesn't even align. How about taking on projects that actually help to reduce the number of homeless people in the city instead of ones that are for the affluent population and for corporations to profit from. I hope other architecture studios in Toronto can learn from these fake displays of positive community impact. Many studios like this promote themselves as doing good but really at a foundational socio-economic level, they drive some of the biggest problems in the city. #thinkcritically #communityimpact #torontohomeless

Farm Credit East announced today the Farm Credit East Cares Community Fund donated $110,000 to various charitable organizations throughout the Northeast. This included $40,000 distributed to regional food banks throughout the eight states Farm Credit East serves. “Voluntary staff contributions, along with a match approved by Farm Credit East’s board of directors, provides staff the opportunity to give to local community initiatives,” said Craig Pollock, Farm Credit East senior vice president and Farm Credit East Cares coordinator. Last week, Alton’s New York office took part in our Pledge 1% volunteer day initiative, once again teaming up with West Side Campaign Against Hunger (WSCAH) in Manhattan to help alleviate hunger in the city.    WSCAH’s crucial work ensures all New Yorkers have access with dignity to a choice of healthy food and support services. Many counties in Southwest Virginia have received significant damages because of Helene. Many are asking how they can help and are wanting to specifically assist farmers in need. Extension Agents in Southwest Virginia are working to assess farmer needs and the availability of donations. If you have anyone interested in donating, Virginia Cooperative Extension is working to coordinate those efforts. We are trying to get materials where they are needed. VCE is working with the VIRGINIA CATTLEMENS ASSOCIATION on accepting financial donations and hope to have that set up soon.
