Quo vadis, European #AdvancedPackaging? After a series of workshops, intense discussions, desktop research and a pan-European survey, our analysis shows 👉 nine recommendations for the implementation of #AdvancedPackaging capabilities in #Europe. 🔎 We assessed the status of packaging, assembly, and test facilities in Europe. We analysed the evolving needs of the #semiconductor industry regarding advanced packaging, assembly, and test developments. We mapped existing facilities, evaluated technological capabilities, and identified areas for improvement. Today, with our 👏 Pack4EU Final Event 👏, we provide the results to inform strategic decisions aligning with the semiconductor industry’s dynamic requirements to unfold its full potential through #AdvancedPackaging. We cordially thank our core team – BLUMORPHO, SEMI Europe, CEA Tech SBEM, Sillicon Europe represented by High Tech NL, iMaps Europe, Delft University of Technology and VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH – and 43 associated partners for the fruitful collaboration! Thanks for the work put into this all! European semiconductor industry without OSAT services is just no proper semiconductor industry! Forgetting the SME that do packaging and testing would not break the chains being depended on asian OSATs. Let's wait for the calls and see if we can get a sustainable industry going.
Package or perish!
It's probably not a huge exaggeration to say that whoever owns the packaging owns the industry. By the way, XTPL's technology is excellent for advanced packaging. I look forward to discussing this during the EPOSS Annual Forum tomorrow.
