Dear friends, colleagues and network:
Some of you may know that after 20 years of working in various roles across private-sector finance, consulting and research, I took a much-needed sabbatical since late last year. I’ve been reflecting over my own learning journey and the many conversations I have had on climate and environment issues over the years. Three things jump out at me the most:
1️⃣ We are hearing a lot about problems, but not enough about solutions. It doesn’t have to be all doom-and-gloom: there is a lot we can do and we all have a role to play.
2️⃣ The barrier to entry and to engage remains high and real for many stakeholders, especially across the Global South. Many, in particular local communities and Indigenous Peoples, remain under-represented, under-supported and unfairly treated due to a lack of access to information, knowledge and resources.
3️⃣ The power of youth: the next generation will be the ones who will take this fight to new levels, and they should be equipped with all the tools to turn the tide.
To help address these, I founded hub101.earth and I am proud to see its launch today as a not-for-profit online platform for capacity building and knowledge sharing in climate, nature and people-centred solutions. It has three objectives:
🌍 To spread the word about solutions, big and small, in a positive and balanced way.
🌎 Make learning easier and more accessible.
🌏 To empower Global South stakeholders and youth groups to take positive action wherever they are.
Please take a look, sign up, and let me know what you think!
