Simken Construction needed an effective rainwater solution for runoff management and structural requirements. WaterSmart proposed the Aquacomb system, known for its adaptability and integration with existing designs. Originally, downpipes fed directly into the tanks, but the Aquacomb system uses a silt trap to control water flow. The tanks were under a heavy load zone, necessitating protection and a reliable overflow system. We revised the design to use a concrete manhole as the central water connection point for better flow control and structural protection. This setup ensures effective water management, structural compliance, and future scalability. https://lnkd.in/gXA2uB-x

Construction site clean-up has so much more to it than “prettying up” a space. Most construction sites have numerous hazards, and having a thorough post-construction clean means that not only will the space look great, but it will also be hazard-free and ready for next steps.

Soil testing in Queensland, particularly for construction projects, plays a critical role given the state’s unique soil compositions and weather patterns. Soil conditions can vary widely—from sandy coastal soils to heavier clay-rich soil types inland—impacting everything from building foundations to pavement durability. This is where CQ Soil Testing's expertise shines, especially in pavement investigations, which are essential for assessing the strength and suitability of soil for supporting roads and other structures. One interesting challenge in Queensland is the high variability in soil moisture due to the subtropical climate, which can lead to expansive clay soils shrinking and swelling with changing moisture levels. This affects both construction projects and long-term maintenance, making soil testing essential for ensuring structural stability and minimising future repairs. To find out how we can assist your next project, call 1800 277 645, email info@cqsoiltesting.com.au or visit our website: https://lnkd.in/gaUtQNPS #soiltesting #queensland #pavementinvestigation

At Marsh Industries, we understand the challenges of installing standard sewage treatment plants, which often stand over 2.3m high. That’s why we offer a range of shallow plants, from 4 to 35PE, that are only 1.6m in height. This makes installation not only feasible but also quicker, easier, and safer for you and your team. Our Shallow Ensign units are especially popular in areas with tough site conditions, like hard rock, where deeper systems would require costly and time-consuming excavation. With our shallow design, we’re making wastewater treatment solutions more accessible and efficient, no matter the landscape. #watermanagementsolutions #buildersmerchants

The impact of 🔥fire🔥 damage to existing buildings - particularly those of historical interest - can be significant. The recent fire in Denmark's historic old stock exchange and the 2019 Notre Dame fire illustrate the damage that can be caused, to both the structure and content of such landmark buildings. Fire risks can be devastating and complex. In addition to structural damage there is the risk to life; both to those working on a construction site and those who may occupy the area (residents, fire and rescue services, passers by). Set-up of construction sites and potential variations and stages of development means it is not always straightforward to specify a suitable fire safety system. Biosite's EN54 certified system has been developed specifically to address such challenges in the construction industry, to be safe, flexible and simple to use. #FireSafety #Construction
