Occasionally my business overlaps with my friendships, and I love it when that happens.... Julie and I first met in 2002. We waited tables together at an Italian restaurant here in my hometown. Julie is one of the most kind, welcoming, genuine people you'll ever meet. If you know her, you can't help but love her - that's just who she is. I came from the chain restaurant world of Ruby Tuesday (are they even still around anymore?) to this fine dining restaurant and felt completely out of my element. I didn't know how to open a bottle of wine (heck I was 19 and probably drank Boone's Farm back then), or about the variety of seafoods and pastas we offered. Jules took me under her wing and graciously taught me everything she knew, up to and including how to tie a tie (part of our uniform). Little did she know, she also taught me how to create an awesome customer experience, how to run a team, and how to lead by example. Jules went on to marry a successful chef and restaurant owner, but years later when he decided to sell the business and go a different path, Jules was ready to try something different. HYI was looking for a PL Account Manager and I knew Julie's personality, work ethic, and customer service skills would make her a perfect fit. She had all the makings to be successful, she just needed to learn the insurance piece. She wasn't sure she could do it - but I promised her that on the right team, I knew she could. One of the things I love about Joe Lapi is that he keeps an open mind. He also trusts me. When I presented Julie as a candidate 3 years ago, he said "If you like her for this, I'll talk to her." She was offered the job that week (even edging out a candidate who HAD experience). Today my dear friend who spent her entire adult life in the restaurant world has made a total pivot into insurance, and has a successful new career path ahead of her. If you're a retail agency always wondering where your next awesome AM is going to come from, try keeping an open mind. Go for the person who has the right attitude and checks SOME of the boxes. Planning ahead instead of waiting until the hire is a 5 alarm fire will afford you the time to train folks like this. I promise you it will result in some of your very best hires. I think Joe and team would agree, Julie's been an asset to HYI - not just professionally, but in keeping with the awesome culture he's creating over there. Cheers to 3 years, Jules! 🥂

Today is Jule Day's 🥳fourth anniversary🥳 at the Economic Alliance, and we're FOURtunate to have her! In honor of her big day, we asked her some intriguing questions: -Why did you want to work for/be a part of the Economic Alliance? To be a part of change that tangibly affects the people and community I care about. Projects I work on and lead with my team can be enjoyed by my family and friends, bring joy to the community, and have a positive impact that I, too, feel fulfilled from. Being part of a small team means you wear a lot of hats, so you certainly feel like you are an extreme value add to everything that we do because, without each of us, many things would NOT happen! We are busy, but man, do we also feel important. -What has been the most rewarding part of being a part of this team? The degree of talent, experience, and diversity in backgrounds on this team is second to none. Many incredible people have been a part of this organization, and I'm honored to be a part of that roster. You feel like you are a part of something special on this team, and even as we grow, our new talent brings GREAT energy! -How are you planning on celebrating your anniversary? What excites you about the upcoming year? Our team is growing. There are LOTS of new ideas in the pipeline. There won't really be an opportunity to stop and party, but we will celebrate year-round by doing awesome things for our communities. -What is your favorite Economic Alliance brand color and why? Green. Green means growth, balance, and thoughtfulness. It also happens to work perfectly with strawberry blonde locks 😋

5 years what an achievement, this time 5 years ago I remember thinking "I hope that phone rings today", I can assure you I have never had that thought again. 5 Years at TMT has been like a well controlled, organised, fun Rollercoaster that only goes up! With more people joining our happy ship and us now building on our well established brand, I am excited to see what the next 5 years will bring. A few insights. On the property market side of things, the world of Real Estate is evolving and with it, the ways you can purchase property. Cryptocurrency's popularity is already showing it is possible to purchase property with, for example, Bitcoin, Ethereum or other digital assets. Some sellers may be open to such an exchange, however GBP will be needed for some time yet for that all important HMRC SDLT payment! Some Lenders are even starting to explore mortgages backed by Cryptocurrency. Global Payments will become faster, cheaper, more efficient and encouraging more international trade, business and investment. A fee with no exchange rate! Regulatory reform - with some Crypto Exchanges now being accepted by PII providers and Banks you can now use your Crypto investment portfolio to buy assets (all subject to AML, KYC etc etc but lets not bog this post about the future in 'red tape'). Artificial Intelligence- Chat GPT, the other day my Teams call was minuted by a Bot who took a very detailed minute by minute with sub titled topic headings at a speed I'm not sure I can talk at - some will disagree! All of the above will compliment service, personal experience, efficiency. Finally for those that may feel some trepidation regarding the future, did you know that the word FEAR has two meanings. 1. Two decades fly by in a blink when shared with the right people. Recently, I had the honor of celebrating a 20 year work anniversary with a colleague who had been a cornerstone of our team. It's moments like these that remind us of the immense value in building strong, lasting relationships at work. The bonds we've crafted over these years have weathered challenges and celebrated victories. Here’s what I've learned from two decades alongside incredible people: → Shared purpose is powerful. When everyone rallies around a common goal, it transforms daily tasks into meaningful pursuits. → Trust is the glue. It's the foundation that holds us together through tough times and amplifies our triumphs. → Celebrate every win. Big or small, victories keep us motivated and remind us why we started this journey together. → Empathy elevates. Understanding and supporting each other’s unique strengths fosters a thriving environment. Reflecting on two decades, it’s clear that the people around us make the journey worthwhile. We’ve not only built an outstanding team but a work family. As we look forward to more years ahead, I’m grateful for every lesson learned and every moment shared. 🎉 Celebrating a Milestone! 🎉 We are thrilled to celebrate Peter Hanzel‘s 20th anniversary with in our company! Over the past two decades, his dedication, expertise, and commitment have been crutial in our success. Thank you, Peter, for your remarkable contributions and unwavering loyalty. We are sure we have a lot of achievements and growth still together in front of us! Curious to know why Peter stayed with us for 20 years? Here is his answer😊 I can summarize it in 3 reasons - ordered by priority - 1. the team, 2. non-monotonous work, 3. option to choose my own path. The team makes you feel at work like on a friend event. Of course there are ups and downs, but even in downs team was there to help to get out of the ... it.  [😉]  The work was always interesting, sometimes more challenging, sometimes more annoying and of course sometimes a little monotonous as at any other work. What also helped a lot that most of my team leads have aIways acted as one of us. A: Watching how search is evolving. AI overviews, more and more zero-click searches, and how content and brand presence will have to navigate it is going to be critical for every brand this year. Q: What is your biggest professional or personal highlight of the last 6 months? A: For me, it was the places we've taken BFO to share our expertise. We attended and spoke at a lot of events last year, and being able to get our team's intelligence in front of so many people is absolutely a highlight for me. Q: Who is your dream client and why?
