Closing the Year with Hope and Resilience: Coming out of the Thanksgiving holiday with some thougths about the future. So, I am trying something different this year as change often brings about a need to recalibrate. Here’s to a December filled with fresh opportunities, renewed hope, and the knowledge that brighter days are ahead. As we approach the final pages of this year’s calendar, it's natural to reflect on where we’ve been and dream about where we’re headed. For some, this year has brought growth and milestones; for others, it’s been a season of challenges and transitions especially for those navigating the job market in uncertain economic times. To everyone searching for their next opportunity: you are not alone. It will certainly feel that way. This journey, while often demanding, is also a testament to your courage, resilience, and belief in your own potential. The truth is, the close of the year isn’t an end, it’s a chance to reset. It’s a time to rediscover strengths, refine goals, and embrace the possibilities waiting just around the corner. Let go of those "no" responses and focus on getting closer to the "yes" that will redefine your path. So, with that: 1.) Celebrate your wins, big and small. 2.) Surround yourself with people who uplift and support you. 3.) Keep moving forward, even if the steps feel small. It ain’t as bad as you think! It will look better in the morning. The end of the year always feels like a mix of excitement and emotion. It’s exciting to look forward to vacations, family gatherings, and celebrations. At the same time, it’s emotional—not just because another year has flown by—but because many of us still have unfinished goals. When you take a moment to reflect, we realize what matters is not checking off every item on the to-do list. But acknowledging the progress made, the habits formed, and the personal growth we have experienced. In one of my earlier posts I have shared Colin Powell’s 13 rules (https://lnkd.in/dN5vT9ua). Some of those are perfect to help us prepare for the new year. 1. It ain’t as bad as you think! It will look better in the morning. 2. It can be done. 3. Check small things. 4. Remain calm. As I sat reflecting deeply on 2025, I asked myself a bold question: Mojisola, can you truly commit to a 365-day challenge on LinkedIn—sharing one life-changing lesson every single day? I had the vision. The desire was there. But here we are, nearly 20 days in, and I’ve only created one post. At first, I felt a wave of guilt rising, but then I paused and looked closer. Guess what I’ve been doing instead? The hard part! Strategy. Between adjusting to a new schedule—balancing schooling, the demands of work, ministry, and family—I’ve been quietly laying the groundwork. Refining my focus. Preparing my heart. Because this year isn’t like any other year. In 2024, God compressed four years into one for me. And in 2025? It feels like I’m stepping into a five-in-one year. A year of explosive growth, extraordinary demands, and unimaginable rewards. It’s intense already, but I’ve made up my mind: I will wait. I will stay. I will not be faster than my process. May I cling to the Master Planner—the One who holds my hands through every season and phase. May I fulfill every single thing written concerning me this year. May I make God proud. This isn’t just a season of acceleration; it’s a season of alignment. Growth is knocking. Ease and speed have been availed to me, but I know this one thing: I cannot afford to be negligent. This is truly my year of FLIGHT—by the Spirit! As I immerse myself in the timeless truths I’ve received—from my local assembly, the Young Ministers Retreat, and WOFBEC—it’s like I see every connecting dot coming alive. Every prophecy will come to pass. Now is the time. No more room for slothfulness. No excuses. I’m ready to go for GOLD and MAKE IT HAPPEN by His grace. The New Year isn’t a fresh start for everybody—and that’s ok. Every year, we’re sold the idea that January 1st is a time for joy, transformation, and new beginnings. But what happens if the calendar changes, and life feels exactly the same? I’ve been there—and it can feel disappointing AF. But here are a few things I’ve started to embrace more to manage my expectations: ✨ Roll with the seasons, literally: The calendar New Year actually doesn’t align with nature. January falls in winter—a season for rest, reflection, and preparation—not dramatic change. Don’t fight it. ✨Growth takes time: Like spring blooms, real transformation happens gradually, after unseen moments of preparation. Take your time, boo. ✨Progress takes work: Both in nature and in life, evolution and change take long term commitment, sacrifice and work. It doesn’t come with just the flipping of a calendar page. Seasons of rest and preparation are not failures; they’re part of the process. This year, I’m letting go of the gaslight of the New Year—the pressure to force transformation on a timeline that isn’t mine. What truly matters is how we approach each day—not just January 1st, but every single day that follows. The year ahead can feel overwhelming if we let it.
