How does an employee who was promoted to a higher position/management position gain respect from the coworkers who trained that employee? I often hear of businesses not promoting from within because it is hard to gain respect from employees that trained the person getting the promotion. But why NOT promote from within? The employee knows the office. The employee knows the staff. The employee has succeeded and proven to be capable or sometimes even more than capable of the position. So why not promote from within the office and utilize that employee to the fullest extent, instead of limiting that employee to a position that they have outgrown. Please comment and share. Tegan said: “As HR Coordinator, I oversee the complete employee life cycle and am responsible for guiding individuals through several employment processes. I am also the go-to person for answering questions about policies and handling any matters that employees might have in their day-to-day role, as well as overseeing things like our benefit and wellbeing schemes. “My role is very fast-paced, so whilst there are always several routine HR tasks to complete regularly, no two days are the same as you never can predict what queries might crop up. One minute I could be updating policies, and the next I’ll be onboarding new starters, but I enjoy the variety each day brings. “This flexibility extends to my working location too as, while I tend to work two days at home, and three at the hub, I like to get out and about and visit our other BK hubs as it’s always great to see people face-to-face.” #HumanResources #WorkYourWay

Employee: With added responsibilities, shouldn’t there be an adjustment to my compensation? Manager: Not at this time. The promotion is largely about recognition and the opportunity to lead. Employee: I will have to reconsider. — Growth is not just about titles. It’s about continuous learning, the chance to create impact, and yes, fair compensation. Just as a tree can’t thrive in poor soil, a career can't flourish without the right conditions. - Fair pay is important. - Learning is important. - Growth is important. - Respect is important.
