Ever wondered what a day in the life of a HR Coordinator at Bruton Knowles is like? 🤔 We caught up with Tegan King, who has been with us for three and half years, to find out what her role entails. Tegan said: “As HR Coordinator, I oversee the complete employee life cycle and am responsible for guiding individuals through several employment processes. I am also the go-to person for answering questions about policies and handling any matters that employees might have in their day-to-day role, as well as overseeing things like our benefit and wellbeing schemes. “My role is very fast-paced, so whilst there are always several routine HR tasks to complete regularly, no two days are the same as you never can predict what queries might crop up. One minute I could be updating policies, and the next I’ll be onboarding new starters, but I enjoy the variety each day brings. “This flexibility extends to my working location too as, while I tend to work two days at home, and three at the hub, I like to get out and about and visit our other BK hubs as it’s always great to see people face-to-face.” #HumanResources #WorkYourWay

Had this chat with a HR director this week: 🙋♀️ Me: "So, what are you offering for staff wellbeing and development?" 📞 HR Director: "Well, we’ve got the cycle scheme, they leave at 4:30 on Fridays, and if they hit targets, they might get promoted." 🙋♀️Me: "Right... so not much then, how do you feel about that?" 📞HR Director: "The C-suite won’t give us much budget, but we did have a great xmas party and the director does pop in to the office now and then…we need more" It’s 2025!! Staff need more than early Fridays and a pat on the back. Real care for staff and good culture = resilience, growth, and happiness!! HR need to be able to do their job.
