As the 2024 election unfolds, we’re going beyond the headlines to analyze the political strategies driving the race for the White House and control on Capitol Hill. Buckle up, folks. For those of us who have been feeling like this election cycle has been taking us into uncharted territory and might also be the ultimate test of our democracy and, in particular, the effectiveness and responsiveness of our two-party system, buckle up . . . buckle up. (And, yes, whatever interventions and strategic re-thinking take place at the top of the ticket (regional Biden-Harris town halls anybody?), I still believe that a consciously collaborative and viral effort by Taylor Swift and Beyonce, in particular, on an original song and video about democracy and voting, coupled with a strong show of multi-generational and multi-ethnic unity at the convention, will help the Democratic Party prevail on election day.)
