Republic Day serves as an opportunity for Tanzanians to reflect on the challenges overcome, the advancements made in areas such as education, healthcare, and economic development, and the work that still lies ahead. It reinforces the principles of self-governance, national unity, and the ongoing process of nation-building, reminding Tanzanians of their country’s hard-won independence and its commitment to democratic ideals and national sovereignty as they continue to face new challenges in the 21st century. Let us be honest with ourselves: The humanitarian situation in Gaza is unacceptable to humanity. Shall we do a global poll on this issue? It is not a political problem. It is about women, children, innocent men wantonly killed, injured and displaced, and for the still living and surviving Palestinians in Gaza who have no or insufficient access to food, health, water basic education, emergency shelter and psychological support. Numbers are staggering and destruction apocalyptic. Yes, the hostages held by Hamas, and not by the people of Palestine, must be returned to their families assp. But above all peace, not just a cease fire, but a lasting peace and harmony must prevail, and with it the respect, dignity and compassion restored to the victims of a horrible and painful scar of man's inhumanity to man.

While delivering his remarks at the Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh, Saudia Arabia, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed the following points: ✅ The Declaration of State of Palestine, the long-suffering Palestinian people's national holiday, will be celebrated on November 15. With East Jerusalem as its capital, I am certain that this ancient and historically significant country has every right to create an independent and free state inside the 1967 borders. ✅ We are in favor of providing further support to the operations of UNRWA and other highly experienced United Nations agencies. ✅ We declare our willingness to offer free medical treatment at Uzbekistan's hospitals to Palestinian women and children impacted by the conflict. ✅ At the upcoming GCC-Central Asia Summit in Samarkand next year, we also intend to talk about providing the Palestinian people with tangible aid. ✅ We should focus more on maintaining the sanctity and preservation of Jerusalem's Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque and other distinctive historical and cultural landmarks as members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
