It's time to do something big about skyrocketing IT costs in travel retail. Too much needless redundancy of efforts when opensource has a proven record to cut costs and transform an industry. It's not a technology problem. The need is for travel suppliers, distributors, channels, TMCs, and technology providers to come together and agree on a course of action. OpenTravel can be a standards and technology coordinator but also needed are the various industry trade associations to drive the business plan and communicate the value proposition.
