Major Antitrust Ruling Against Google: What’s Next for Digital Marketing? This week, a federal court ruled that Google violated U.S. antitrust law by "willfully acquiring and maintaining monopoly power" in the online advertising technology market. The decision highlights how Google’s dominance—boosted by key acquisitions like DoubleClick—has shaped the digital advertising ecosystem for years. Read more from CNN (link below) What does this mean for marketers? If the court ultimately forces Google to divest major parts of its ad tech business, we could see a fundamental shift in how digital campaigns are planned, bought, and measured. More competition in the ad tech space might mean: Greater transparency in ad pricing and performance New opportunities for alternative platforms to gain traction Potentially lower fees for publishers and advertisers But there are challenges, too. Marketers should prepare for: Short-term disruption and fragmentation in tools and platforms The need to diversify channel strategies and ad buys Increased complexity in tracking, attribution, and reporting My take: We’re witnessing the start of a new era in digital advertising—one that may force brands and agencies to be more agile, data-driven, and open to testing emerging platforms. How are you preparing for a more fragmented digital ad landscape? Is this a positive step for innovation, or do you foresee new challenges? Let’s discuss! https://lnkd.in/e488y5fD #Marketing #DigitalAdvertising #AdTech #Antitrust #Google #Innovation #MediaBuying #DigitalTransformation

TTI - Travel Technology Initiative are excited to share the illuminating research results from the TravelTech Show, and to announce that the show, is now officially open for visitor registration. The show runs 25 - 26 June at ExCel, London. www.traveltech-show.com Press Release - Travel Technology Show Registration for the TravelTech Show opens today, and ahead of the event taking place at the end of June, new data reveals that once again, #AI is set to dominate travel operators’ technology budgets for the year ahead. Key findings from the survey highlighted: Nearly two thirds (64%) will be increasing their technology budget in the next 12 months; by as much as 20% for one fifth of respondents. #AI once again claims the top spot on the budget line when respondents were asked which three new technologies are you planning to invest in over the next year. Nearly half (42%) of those surveyed plan to increase #AI investment by 10% over the next 12 months, whilst a further 16% will increase investments by as much as 50%. Investment in online presence In a similar vein, when it comes to travel operators investing in their online presence, #AI once again takes the lead. Over 26% are investing in #AI #chatbots, 21% in booking platforms,18% in content and social media platforms. Benefits and concerns of #AI The most popular benefits of #AI are highlighted as improved customer experience (24%) and reduced operational costs (also 24%), and whilst the increased investment plans are good news for the travel tech sector, the stats suggest many operators are adopting an ‘approach with caution’ stance, and carefully scoping the requirements before committing to implementing #AI. From the data, the biggest concerns of #AI are cited as: Quality and accuracy of content produced – 31% Data privacy and security/cyberattacks – 15% Keeping pace with development – 14%. Commenting on the results TravelTech Show event director Nimet Sayeed said, “It is encouraging to see travel companies continuing to plan for increased investment in technology platforms. #AI continues to claim the budget top spot, but perhaps more interesting to note is the commitment to investing in research around it. Unquestionably #AI is accelerating at pace and whilst many operators are keen to keep up, they are also focused on taking the time to ensure the tools they do select are the best fit for their business model. operations and, crucially, their customers". “This year’s TravelTech Show programme has been developed to ensure both operators and suppliers will have the opportunity to place themselves firmly at the forefront of the latest #AI developments for the travel industry across a two-day agenda of speakers, conferences and networking sessions.” #TravelTech takes place from 25 – 26 June 2025 at Excel London. Breaking News from the OpenTravel Alliance ( TTI - Travel Technology Initiative 's partner organisation) is reorganising to become 'The Open Travel Foundation' . This change has come about because OpenTravel Alliance is now working with The Linux Foundation.
The Open Travel Alliance is reorganizing to become the Open Travel Foundation OpenTravel has served the travel retail community for 25 years. Providing standard messages used over a billion times per day and growing. But standards alone are not sufficient to deal with the current chaos in travel retail APIs. No two APIs mean or behave the same, requiring bespoke code for all API consumers. This drives up labor costs for all, providers and consumers, of APIs. The industry is also in the midst of a technology transformation. Moving away from stateful backends and towards the “shared nothing” architecture of the cloud. There is also great interest in enhancing personalization for each traveler by leveraging AI. However, personalization that only works on a private channel (supplier website) or cannot handle multiple trip products, falls way short of customer expectations. For these and many other reasons, OpenTravel is working with the Linux Foundation to create The Open Travel Foundation. This will bring to bear the strength of open-source solutions to travel retail. OpenTravel models/messages will be enhanced to define all features a universal offer needs to support any product, at any price, with any rules, on any channel. Open-source capabilities will be provided to handle the majority of the non-competitive functions needed for anyone to implement a certified, AI ready, OpenTravel offer management solution. This will be transformative for travel retail and a means for all to modernize their digital retail at lower cost and risk. To learn more, visit our website (www.opentravel.org).
