What makes art powerful? Its ability to transform not just spaces, but the way we experience them. ✨ We’re thrilled to share the unveiling of our new 1250-metre art trail project in Stratford in collaboration with Populo Living and Newham London. Featuring two hand-painted 34-metre murals, 25 square metres of floor art, five interactive play pieces, colour-blocked planters and walls, AND over 1,300 boot prints! A vibrant, community-driven masterpiece that has redefined how we think about public art. This project isn’t just about what you see; it’s about what you feel and how you engage. From stunning walls to playful floor art, every detail was designed to spark curiosity and connection. One of the most exciting elements is the interactive floor art, with boot prints that guide you through the journey of the murals. Each step connects the dots between individual artworks, creating a cohesive story that invites participation and exploration. Seeing people of all ages engage with the pieces was an unforgettable highlight. It brought smiles, conversations, and a shared sense of pride, reminding us of art’s capacity to unite and uplift. ✨ This project has reinforced something we’ve learned time and again: public art thrives when it’s created with and for the community. Last Thursday, we welcomed a great collection of clients, consultants, contractors and collaborators (in the spirit of alliteration) at the launch of our new brand Studio.SC. Founded in 1983, Scott Carver has now turned 40+1 years….and with that it was time for change. Time for a refocus.   Studio.SC is both a nod to its heritage but also reflective of the way we work. The collection of people within a ‘studio’ is not only our team but equally importantly represents the many inspired clients who define opportunities; the design consultants who help shape our projects; and the builders who help realise our ambitions. I have witnessed change here for 22 years. Some might think that is a long time at one firm. But we all know how long projects within the property industry take, from initial feasibilities and the testing of ideas to approvals and ultimately through to construction. So, in that time, I have witnessed and been part of a huge diversity of projects from very small, to very large, across many markets.  But what characterises all of those projects is our attitude, that ultimately architecture and design is all about relationships through effective excellence…and that is what good project experiences give back to us. So, to all those I have worked with both internally and externally to Studio.SC….I am sure you’ll love the new brand and help us define the next 40…with many +1’s to come. The Bricken Arcade project is an interesting example of how the new Deco LightPanel complete solution by EOS Light eliminates installation hassles and confusion, while resulting in superior and stellar installations – and how it further beautifies even upscale and historically-significant, high-profile public spaces. Up until now, the classic challenge with backlit metal pattern material in architectural spaces has been the integration between separately-sourced materials from two different suppliers. On the one hand, you have the lighting supplier (e.g. EOS Light), and on the other hand you have the separate metal pattern supplier. The metal raw materials have not typically been manufactured with the lighting in mind, so developing a solution for them to work together on a case-by-case basis for every new project can be a very time-consuming challenge. In line with British Columbia’s focus on community-driven solutions, PDDA has been consistently creating efficient, environmentally conscious architectural designs to support urban growth. It’s at the forefront of Canada's multiplex transformation, providing smart, sustainable, and space-efficient designs to address the housing crisis. Reducing urban sprawl and promoting affordability. While Ontario dominates residential architecture with high-rise and low-rise developments given the continuous population growth, British Columbia is gaining momentum in innovative multiplex design, particularly in Greater Vancouver, allowing it for higher-density housing without the need for extensive infrastructure changes, helping cities meet growing demands efficiently. Multiplexes have proven to be a practical solution, offering more housing in compact spaces and enhancing public transport use.
