Bostik, Arkema’s adhesive solutions segment, will now offer certain product lines that previously were under Dow’s laminating adhesives and coatings business. These will be the same quality products but with Bostik’s local, hands-on, technical expertise. Infinity walker, foodie and materials innovator meet Ana Margarida Fontaínhas, our General Engineer & Materials Owner. Ana is responsible for developing compounds, performance tests, quality control, talking to different suppliers, implementing processes and being the bridge between lab and machine. Amazing to see experimental design methods in practice! Using HTE and DoE to enable improvements in efficiency in R&D and to generate high quality data which can be utilised to make more effective and informed decisions. 🙌

One topic, I consistently heard in Orlando: can you point me to other SAP customers in my industry who have done this before. Well, I pointed them to Vienna. This is the ultimate culmination of innovation stories on the SAP platform for manufacturing industries.

How can we make our workplace healthier, safer, and more environmentally friendly? Our employees around the world find innovative solutions to this question within our annual Freudenberg initiative "We All Take Care." Each year, three of the "We All Take Care" projects are awarded for their exemplary achievement. This year, selecting the winners was challenging as our colleagues established a new submission record with over 300 projects.   First place goes to…🥁…our colleagues from Freudenberg Sealing Technologies! With its “Safety Meets Performance” project, it achieved a remarkable reduction in the braking speed of open rolling mills, decreasing one of the greatest safety risks in dealing with rollers. The Vibracoustic team came in second: The Chinese facility in Wuxi was able to reduce its energy consumption and CO2 emissions rate by implementing a number of energy efficiency improvements at their site. And the third place went to Freudenberg Chemical Specialities – by building a digital platform, each of their employees will be able to play an active role on safety issues.   Two of our Business Groups Freudenberg Medical and Freudenberg Flow Technologies were also honored for their work on the active involvement of employees on safety issues and for their improved safety cultures at their sites. 🗜️ Retrofit opportunity for chemical capex in Germany 🗜️ ⚙️ One of the most well-known chemical manufacturers in Germany is packing up capex and shifting the capex cycle to the home of the brave in a series of decisions to be implemented in Q1-Q2 2025, which opens up an interesting opportunity. ⚙️ As the consumer robots market from Chinese deflation is about to explode and make its way to Europe, it creates an interesting opportunity for a retrofit of the chemical and refining capex in Germany in a commercially profitable way. Current recycling capacity utilization is rather on the lower end and has not completely accounted for the consumer robot market. Yes, the margins are going to be lower than the previous utility of chemical infrastructure but it would buffer some of the cost of moving the production across the Ocean.
