My hubby is a Trades Mechanic in Heavy Diesel Fitter/Heavy Mechanic Fitter. He is a professional mechanic with more than10 years of work experience. I assisted with emailing his application docs applying for a Diesel Fitter Position to an Engineering company which was advertised in LinkedIn. Long story short, he received an email response to sit for Literature/Language & Numeracy test and did sit for the test, however he did not pass the test to meet the requirements and his application was dropped and said if he wishes to re-sit for the test, he needs to apply again. My question is, what about his hands on experience and capability?

Sorry Melissa Aomana. Yes, we have experiences but some of the companies want us to sit for the test. If we fail the test, that's it, we failed despite of the experience and qualification. Thanks, and hope you are satisfied.

Was the entry test info stated on the advert?...And what was the cut off mark of the entry test.For such scenerio atleast test results should be made known or available to the applicants regardless of whatever result or outcome of the test
