I am shifting my focus from what we're doing in #dbt to what we're doing in #looker. I am determined to figure out a sustainable way of using Looker in a company that has multiple domains and thousands of data tables. I'm sure there's a better way than creating 10K datasets and 50K charts in the Looker repo, ensuring most of these will never get maintained or used again. 😇 How do you make sure the model exposes all of your data in a way that users can find what they're looking for? I don't mean documentation, I mean how do you combine views into explores and explores into models. Who are you favourite thought leaders on this topic? Any "aha" moments you've had? Any articles that you keep going back to for guidance?

Normally, I would hold the excitement to prepare a video, but I need to spread the news: REGEX functions are coming to Microsoft Excel!!! 🎉 Those who are devs or professionals in tech & data will understand what the functions do just by their names: REGEXEXTRACT, REGEXREPLACE, and REGEXTEST. If you have never heard about REGEX before, it stands for "Regular Expressions," which is a notation to help match patterns in data. The new REGEX functions in Excel can help you with the following tasks: • REGEXTEST: To test if there is a specific pattern in some text. • REGEXEXTRACT: To extract specific part(s) matching the given pattern. • REGEXREPLACE: To replace a matching pattern with specific text. Well, a picture is worth a thousand words, so here we go with a quick demonstration of emails being extracted from unstructured text! 🔥 More tips to come! 🚀 Follow: Cristiano Galvao #REGEX #Excel #MicrosoftExcel #RegularExpressions #Data

🎯 How to Separate Traffic by Different Directories in Looker Studio Segmenting traffic based on different directories can provide valuable insights into how users interact with key sections of your site. 🧐 1️⃣ Creating a Calculated Field 2️⃣ Add RegEx code as shown in the image ⚠️ Note: This formula is just a starting point! You’ll need to customize the directory structure based on your own site’s URLs. For example, change /cat/, /product/, or /mag/ to match your actual directory names.
