Recently, I encountered an error when using the sorting feature while modifying a Pivot table in Google Looker Studio. The data source is BigQuery, which I have added myself, so I have access permissions. I am using the Pivot table in Looker Studio for retention analysis. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Here's the error message: "Couldn't save the file. Sorry! We can't save this report right now. This may just be temporary. To keep working, close this message. If the error happens again, please refresh the page. Any unsaved changes will be lost. We're sorry for any inconvenience. For more help, please visit the Help Forum." I couldn't find any specific guidance when searching the forum. https://lnkd.in/gtG63tpr #lookerstudio

New Updates in Looker Studio Last week saw a bunch of valuable updates to Looker Studio. Here are the main 3, in order of value (IMO): 1️⃣ Group Others: Aggregate results that are outside of specified limits. Really useful for focusing on top-performing items and grouping less significant data 2️⃣ New "Bin" calculated field type: Allows you to create tiers for numeric dimensions. Saves time by reducing the need for creating manual CASE WHEN 3️⃣ Improved data label customisation: Change the size, colour, background of data labels. You can now create labels people can actually read! ️️ Here are the official release notes: https://lnkd.in/eu69nkzn #DataVisualisation #LookerStudio #DataAnalysis

This week has been a transformative one, filled with valuable lessons and insights. Wrapping up with Yordan Ivanov article, [Building Data Pipelines for Small Businesses] (https://lnkd.in/dHbPHpbv), simplified my understanding of what data engineering truly entails. It was a refreshing reminder of the core principles of building efficient data systems. 💡📊 In addition, I deepened my knowledge with Joe Reis Fundamentals of Data Engineering course, which laid a solid foundation for grasping the data engineering lifecycle. As I wrapped up Week 2, I explored AWS tools and their applications across various phases of the data engineering process. 🛠️☁️ The exposure to posts and articles from experts like Zach Wilson and Stephanie Nuesi further enriched my learning experience, offering practical insights and inspiration. 📚🚀 On a personal development note, I’ve been reading Robin Sharma’s The 5 AM Club. 📖🌅 The book has been a treasure trove of wisdom, teaching me the power of owning my mornings and designing a balanced, fulfilling life. Characters like the Spellbinder, the Vagrant, the Entrepreneur, and the Artist each bring profound lessons on mindset, purpose, and creativity. 🎨💼 I’m excited about the week ahead as I continue my journey in data engineering and personal growth. Every day brings new opportunities to learn, improve, and achieve more. Here’s to making the most of it! 💪✨ #DataEngineering #PersonalDevelopment #GrowthMindset #AWS #LearningJourney #NeverStopLearning
How to build a micro data platform in 2025: You don't need $100,000. Start for free. Start with Google Sheets. $0. Add Zapier or Make. Still $0. Visualise in Looker Studio. $0 again. Is it useless? Throw it. You haven't spent a dime! Is it good? Scale it. Hire people (consultants are great in the beginning). Replace tools one by one. It's simple. Not easy.

New formatting options for the bin calculated field type in Looker Studio: New formatting options for the Bin calculated field type let you customize the appearance of ad hoc numeric tiers. These options include: Interval "[x,y)" — This format displays the range including x, and up to but not including y. Integer "x to y" — This format must be used with discrete integer values (such as age). Relational ">= x and < y" — This format is best used with continuous numbers (such as dollars). #LookerStudio

One of our most popular blogs shares several options for visualizing how users are interacting with your website at different times in the day. -> In GA4, you can use an Exploration to see a line chart showing variations of sessions each hour. But GA4 has pretty limited options for formatting and presentation of charts and graphs. -> Or, pretty quickly, you can create a Looker Studio visualization with tabular data, like our post image. Want to know how? Read the blog and/or watch the video for a step-by-step walkthrough. https://lnkd.in/gv4zkKDt

Yesterday, someone asked if it's possible to create an optional filter in Looker Studio to toggle between Branded or Non Branded terms or any other intent you want to pinpoint using Search Console data. The answer is yes! This step-by-step guide explains how to do that using Search Console data in Looker Studio with a little SQL. Here's the code for a quick copy-and-paste: CASE WHEN REGEXP_MATCH (Query, "(.*your brand here.*|.*your brand here.*)") THEN "Branded" ELSE "Non Branded" END Let me know how you get on and if you find any interesting trends or patterns. #SEOTip #LookerStudio #SearchConsole #UserIntent
