Second Health Week at Lingoda: Wellbeing for Body & Mind 🌿 Lingoda's second Health Week has successfully concluded! Over the course of 5 days, from October 14-18, Lingodies were invited to participate in a range of on-site and online activities, broadening our horizon about the various dimensions of wellbeing on and off work. 🌱 The invaluable support from our partners and sponsors played a crucial role in making Health Week a success. nilo.health led insightful roundtable discussions on meditation, growth mindset, and mental health-centered leadership. Tackling a common topic in the workplace, Bloom contributed with a webinar on stress management.😌 At Lingoda, we’ve always prioritized the link between mental and physical well-being, creating an environment that encourages a healthy mind and body. This year, BARMER hosted educational webinars on nutrition trends and healthy eating habits. Furthermore, we were thrilled to receive goodie bags from our partners BRAINEFFECT and KoRo, filled with nutritious, brain-boosting snacks and supplements. 🎁 🥝 Health Week wouldn't have been the same without the amazing contributions of our talented Lingodies. Sara Hoxhaj, Valentina R., Kajsa Arnlund, Barbara Cafuta and Rita Olah led a variety of sessions, including seminars on the neurobiology of happiness, meditation and yoga, nutrition workshops, and hands-on on-site activities like gratitude expression and a vegan no-cook workshop. Every crunchy bite of bell pepper, every tender forkful of steamed broccoli is a reminder of the earth’s generosity and the simple steps we can take to align more closely with nature’s rhythms. Here’s a structured plan: 💪🏼🙌🏼💪🏼 Week 1: Gratitude Journaling Start a daily gratitude journal. Each day, you can write down three things you’re thankful for- This practice has been linked to improved mental health and increased happiness. Week 2: Incorporate a New Physical Activity Add a new form of exercise to your routine, such as yoga, brisk walking, or a dance class. Trying different activities can prevent workout monotony and engage various muscle groups. If you need some additional help or suggestions, call or message me for great ideas! Week 3: Mindful Eating Practice mindful eating by paying full attention to your meals, savoring each bite, and recognizing hunger and fullness cues. Health Habits lead to positive changes! Creating daily healthy habits and implementing them into your life can make all the difference in helping you make the positive changes you want. ✅Meditation – find what type of meditation or relaxation techniques calm you. ✅Exercise – find what type of daily exercise works best for you. ✅Meal Prep and Healthy eating – research what foods are best for you and your lifestyle. ✅Practice gratitude – We all have something to be grateful for every day. Write down what you are grateful for. ✅Walk – morning, afternoon, evening. ✅Run – morning, afternoon, evening. ✅Drinking suggested daily water intake – keep track by using an app or keeping a note of it. ✅Get plenty of rest – make sure you get the required amount of sleep you need. Make sure you get to bed at a time that helps you get that. Set long term goals and daily reasonable goals for yourself to achieve. Maybe you need to start small and build on them. That is completely fine. I said I wanted to lift 50 pounds, but not even being able to lift 10 pounds in the beginning I knew I would have to work up to that. 8 habits that prioritize your health! As we're working to serve others, let's remember to take care of our own machine! 8 habits: 1) Daily physical activity. Even simple walking. Just make it a part of life. 2) Mindful eating. Make your own meals when possible. Fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains. Avoid processed food. 3) Lifelong learning. Learn a new hobby, skill, instrument, or other. 4) Regular social interaction. Harder for us introverts. Engage with others. 5) Cultivating gratitude. What 3 things are you thankful for today? 6) Prioritizing sleep. Do you use an alarm? Do you need it? 7) Staying hydrated. Even set an hourly reminder if necessary. 8) Regular health check-ups.
