LCP Global Sports Consulting’s Post

Is there space for one more podcast on the business of sport? We think so - and we’re diving in. From the Ballers League to AI in sport, from Barcelona’s financial levers to whether the “Wembley of the North” is actually viable, we’re asking the big, messy, fascinating questions shaping the future of sport. No promises on answers, but plenty of honest takes, bold ideas, and good company. Episode 1 just dropped. It’s thoughtful, provocative and worth a listen. https://lnkd.in/ej7GmWYh Tony Paladin Arvid Lyngnes Dr. Hatem Goucha PCC

Is there room for one more podcast on the business side of sports? Is the Wembley of the north feasible? What are the financial leavers Barcelona keeps activating? Why is the Djokovic vs ATP important? Is the Ballers league the future of sports? How will AI change things up? We may not have all the answers, but we do have a lot of questions.. So together with my colleagues Dr. Hatem Goucha PCC and Tony Paladin I will co-host a podcast series on Markets, Money and Moves in Sports. This is our first episode - The Platini & Blatter Saga Give us your thoughts 😊 Arvid Lyngnes Tony Paladin Dr. Hatem Goucha PCC LCP Global Sports Consulting MrRichardClarke: SportsContentStrategy Rich Wharton Steve Saunders Hannah Brookes Mai Hanafy Anthony Tornatora Fayez Aladamawi Tom Bevan Terrance Orr Hassan Hassan

Thanks for the great chat! Really enjoyed being part of this one. My 2 cents - what often starts as goodwill or practical workaround slowly drifts into complacency and eventually, into arrogance. In so many sports organisations, the shift is gradual. Rules aren’t outright broken… just bent a little, until that bending becomes the norm. I reckon people we label as “corrupt” often didn’t start out that way. But when everyone else is doing things slightly off-book, it’s easy to convince yourself it’s just how things get done. Legacy outweighs structure. Handshakes replace systems. And suddenly, no one’s asking questions. Curious how others have seen this play out - especially inside federations or long-standing institutions.
