What an amazing day at Bisnow in #Austin #TX! The room was filled with incredible industry friends from around the architecture and design community. https://lnkd.in/gcGYJesK The first panel discussed a blueprint for progress. Everything from growing pains in this great city, to the abundance of opportunity to develop Austin and our surrounding communities for generations to come. Some of my take aways from the first panel were: *Austin’s robust growth identity is our live arts scene filled with destinations for parties, boots, bats & bbq, music, culture, and heritage. *Colorful characters & innovation are welcomed here. Our frontier is an abundance of tech, SBSW, and finding a middle ground for a global city’s perceived identity. *Some growing pains are missed opportunities. How do we retain diversity, climate, and culture that resonate within the public realm? It’s up to municipalities, our architecture, and development opportunities to create a responsible movement of consciousness. *Art is an evocative activator for pathways, providing elements to acheiving traffic flow and lower crime rates in select parts of the city. *We are a Global city filled with opportunity, it’s our responsibility to continue to strive for great design and the desire to be here. 2nd panel discussed: *Hitting the suite spot of abiding within budget, finding unity and beauty & the teamwork within design. *Discussions on internal processes, alignment of partnerships and consultants. *Good contracts, agreements, and healthy client situations. *What makes great listeners through cinematography, extracting intel that will map us toward a great outcomes when working with clients. *And lastly balancing budgets with the rise of VE conversations to establish value. Can you beat Budget, Utility, and Beauty? It was an inspiring day full of connecting, networking, and making new friends. Getting the North American Design Team together from Brooklyn, Chicago, Manhattan Beach, and San Francisco isn’t something we get to do every day. But last month, we did it—bringing our team face-to-face to reconnect, reimagine, and think deeply about the future of design. Seeing everyone in person brought an energy that’s tough to match virtually. We kicked things off with a virtual spark, centering our day around a big question: Where is design headed in a world where technology moves faster than we can sometimes keep up? What stood out most was exploring design’s unique place at the intersection of science and tech—and how it’s the bridge that keeps people at the heart of innovation. The future of design isn’t just about the next shiny tool or faster tech; it’s about making these tools meaningful for people. Design has this rare power to take raw tech and science and shape it into something that feels human. Gatherings like these remind us that, while tech pushes us forward, real progress is about making things work for people. Empathy, connection, and creating solutions that just feel right—that’s what will keep our work relevant and forward-looking. #HumanCenteredDesign #DesignForPeople #FutureOfDesign

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗤 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼? At Q Studio, we believe that, in addition to #technology and #design, our #people are one of our core pillars. When people feel connected and valued, work flows more smoothly, and ideas become stronger. This is why we’ve made open spaces a regular feature in our daily operations. These spaces are not just physical areas; they are moments where collaboration and communication thrive. At Q Studio, we see every Open Space as an opportunity for ideas to intersect and evolve, where technology, design, and most importantly, our people, have the freedom to contribute their best. #OpenSpace #Collaboration #Innovation #TeamWork #PeopleFirst #QStudio #CreativeSpace #DesignAndTech #WorkplaceWellbeing #OfficeCulture

Building a Legacy of Transformative Design As we start to wrap up our celebration of Xperiencemakers' 25th anniversary, I wanted to share some key takeaways from my recent interview with Entrepreneur Mirror [link to full article in comments]. One of the most rewarding aspects of this journey has been building a legacy of Transformative Design. In the interview, I discuss the importance of: - Creating spaces that connect: It's not just about aesthetics; it's about fostering connections between people and the places they inhabit. - Human-centered design: Understanding our clients' needs and aspirations is paramount to crafting spaces that truly resonate with them. - Enduring impact: We strive to design spaces that not only look beautiful but also have a lasting positive impact on the people who use them. These principles will continue to guide us as we embark on our next chapter. But our vision extends beyond Xperiencemakers itself. Building a Legacy of Knowledge with Talk About Spaces This platform allows us to share our design insights and empower others to embrace the transformative power of mindful design. By fostering a dialogue around the intersection of well-being and the built environment, we hope to inspire a new generation of designers who prioritize human-centered, sustainable, and emotionally resonant spaces. A Legacy Rooted in Impact Ultimately, our legacy will be defined by the lasting impact we have on the lives of our clients, the communities we serve, and the design professionals we mentor and inspire. We are committed to leaving a profound and positive imprint on the world, one mindful space at a time. Stay tuned for exciting news and a glimpse into the future of Xperiencemakers! #Xperiencemakers #DesignLegacy #NextChapter P.S. A huge thank you to all our clients, partners, and collaborators who have been a part of this incredible journey. Here's to many more years of creating spaces that inspire!

Last week Joseph Nelson spent a week with our team on work experience in our London Office. Joe was given the task to work up a demountable kiosk at Sneinton Market in Nottingham. He did a brief analysis of the context and what type of kiosk would work in the location. He then worked up a strong design concept based upon parametric principles and sketched out his ideas, before modelling it up to create visuals and short films to illustrate the design and how it would operate, both during the day and in the evening. He also took part in client meetings, at which he taught the project team about how to effectively consult with hard-to-reach groups using social media. At the end of his week with us, Joe said: "As I come to the end of my week at Leonard Design, I can only be disappointed I didn’t get to spend longer here at the office. Whilst nervous upon entry, the warm atmosphere created by the people here eliminated all limiting beliefs and I left that first day eager to see how the next 4 days would play out. For someone with very limited knowledge and skills when it comes to architecture, I feared I would begin to drown upon entry. Whilst being thrown straight into a project, I couldn’t help but swim with the support of the team around me. Finishing and presenting a project that I didn’t deem possible before this week. Leonard Design is not only an exceptional example of the creative mind utilizing modern day tools to change the world as we see it. It is also a lovely group of supportive people whose mission is to not just design, but to leave a net positive on society after every project. Thankyou to everyone at Leonard Design, this is a special place!" It was a pleasure to have Joe with us, and we wish him all the best for the future! #workexperience #careerdevelopment #nextgeneration #architecture #presentation #experience #confidence #design #think #innovate #excite

Most of us have encountered people in business that tend to want to do every single task in a project by themselves. They feel like they can do the whole project by themselves, and if you ask them with curiosity why, you'll extract quickly that they can't trust others doing the job as they do it. Many people calling it as "trust issues". Fact is that it's coming from a thing called interdependence, and it's a trauma response. So, let me share with you some useful insights about it... People with trusting issues in business had childhood experiences, where their parents seemed not to care about their needs, many times their parents didn't study with them, didn't draw or play with them, or they were not interested really on their school progress, but they just cared for marks. These childhood experiences embedded in this person's subconscious mind the pattern that "they should rely on themselves"...and so they learnt from their childhood that they have to do everything by themselves. We need to know that each thing we do in real life or think has its own behavioral pattern in our mind. And the more we practice it, the stronger it becomes. Similarly, driving for consequent 40 years a manual car and then entering an automatic car, it feels somehow off, and most people's mind tend to either discard it, or belittle the automatic gear system, or just say "I can't do it". And so, when it comes to such people entering the business game, delegating other tasks to a team seems somehow similar with the automatic gear car. How to change that? With the same way how you would start becoming familiar with a new automatic car..you won't go a huge first trip, or enter the long traffic, in case you feel not confident with it... Similarly with the business person. They need to unlearn this old pattern, and reinforce daily the new pattern, after of course understanding what's really going on within their minds. Thanks for reading and I greet you 👋 P.S. The image attached is a 3D rendering of the "Modern Andalusian Villa Pavilion", a residential project I designed recently. 💭Space as Connector💭 As we celebrate our S-P-A-C-E projects anniversary, I'm thrilled to share a new insight with you. We often talk about physical spaces as the heartbeat of a brand. In today's digital era, it's easy to underestimate the profound impact of a well-crafted environment. Yet, the right space can ignite collaboration, creativity, and community like nothing else. It's where individuals connect not just with each other, but also with the essence of the brand itself. In my previous post, I discussed how material choices can act as a connector within a space. Today, I want to highlight the importance of programming the interior. A programmable space adapts to the needs of its users and the activities that take place, fostering dynamic interactions and experiences. Take a look at the projects we created for Lynk & Co and Ace & Tate below to see how programmable spaces can create more engaging and versatile environments. #BrandExperience #InteriorDesign #WorkspaceDesign #RetailDesign #CollaborativeSpaces #CreativeSpaces #InnovativeDesign
