The most sustainable car manufacturer? How BMW changed the EV game. BMW has launched the i Vision Circular, with its goal to 'become the most sustainable manufacturer for individual premium mobility.' This is not solely focusing on carbon emissions but actively looking across the board. From circular design to the manufacturing of the car, and finally disassembly: BMW aims to adopt 100 per cent recycled materials use AND 100 per cent recyclability. For a huge operation as big as the BMW Group, that's no small feat. And it comes a couple of months after carmakers were under fire for misreporting carbon emissions. Carbon Tracker suggested the difference between the actual emissions and their research's reported emissions was as much as 27%. The report acknowledged that BMW was improving its disclosure and had narrowed its carbon reporting gap compared with its rivals. The BMW Group is also intending to invest £600 million into Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) production units for Mini in Oxford and Swindon, due to start in 2026 for Mini, the quintessentially British brand that the German automotive company has owned since 2000. When one manufacturer innovates, often competitors follow in quick succession to keep up. So, the hope is that this will create more resource-efficient vehicles. #Sustainability #Circular

🚗 Suzuki is setting a dynamic pace in the UK's automotive landscape with its recent electrification pledge. The entire Suzuki model range is gearing up for a game-changing transition by 2025, with the Swace, Swift Sport, Ignis, and Jimny models leading the charge away from combustion engines. No stone is left unturned in their commitment, as the plan includes halting the introduction of any new combustion vehicles altogether! 🌿 This isn't just about keeping up with trends; it's a firm step towards sustainability. Suzuki's existing favourites, the Swift small car, alongside the Vitara and S-Cross crossovers, will continue to offer full hybrid options, with the Across PHEV already paving the way for a greener footprint. 🔌 But what's truly electrifying is the buzz about Suzuki's first all-electric model expected to launch in 2025. Inspired by the eVX concept car unveiled in 2023, this initiative is backed by a robust strategy funneling half of the company's development budget into electric cars by 2030. 💼 Dale Wyatt, Director of Suzuki UK & Ireland, captures this strategic pivot perfectly, noting the shift will enable Suzuki to thrive in the evolving market of hybrid and electric vehicles. 👀 With its eyes set on the future of eco-friendly driving and high-quality production, Suzuki is not just driving innovation; they're racing towards a net zero future. 🔋 Are you ready to join Suzuki in the electric revolution? What are your thoughts on transitioning to electric transport for a sustainable lifestyle? For over five decades, the Toyota Hilux has built its legacy as a reliable partner both at work and off-road. We are now entering a new era with the introduction of its first electrified version – the Hilux Mild-hybrid 48V. This is a landmark moment because, while the Hilux remains true to its off-road roots, electrification brings even greater versatility and dynamism. All this comes without compromising key utility features, such as its impressive payload capacity or the ability to tow trailers weighing up to 3.5 tons. For me personally, this is a perfect example of how Toyota combines innovation with practicality. The introduction of the 48-volt hybrid system not only enhances driving comfort with quieter operation and improved throttle response but also demonstrates how even iconic models can benefit from modern technologies. In off-road conditions, the Hilux stays true to itself – a reliable workhorse and an adventurous partner, now with the added precision of electric support in challenging situations. The launch of this new powertrain also addresses the needs of our customers, who increasingly seek sustainable solutions. The Hilux Mild-hybrid 48V is compatible with HVO100 renewable fuel, aligning perfectly with our vision of more sustainable mobility. To me, this is yet another testament to how legends not only withstand the test of time but also evolve to meet new challenges 🚀 #ToyotaHilux #ToyotaProfessional
